Walking further into the forest, the sounds of the normal forest creatures slowly fade out, and then are replaced with horrible shrieks of terror. The forest is completely dark, the canopy covering the forest too thick to let in light.
The trail twists to the right here, heading for the east. The trees hanging in the middle of the road make travel difficult, and damp moss hangs from their gnarled, stretched limbs. The wind begins to pick up now, chilling to most, and pushes travelers back to the south.
The dark trail, surprisingly short, ends here abruptly. A large stone path picks up where the trail leads off, leading to the north, where a large castle looms in the darkness. There are no more trees in the road to hinder travel, but now the wind is pushing back to the south, and even the forest fights to stay upright versus this immense force of nature.
Here lies a large, broken down castle. From the look of the condition it is in, no one seems to have occupied this place for quite some time. Or, rather, no one seems to have taken care of it in a long time. The breeze from before has stopped, for no apparent reason, and now there seems to be a rotten stench coming from inside the castle walls. Perhaps it was better with the breeze... A small sign rests here, leaning up against the castle wall.
The inside of the castle is not too different from the outside. All is crumbling, and layers of dust cover all of the furniture in the room. Broken statues and marble pillars line this room, those that haven't crumbled to ashes yet anyway. There is a slight echo of footsteps throughout the castle, but their direction is hard to tell. A hallway leads both to the west and east, while to the north the castle seems to have caved in on itself.
The center of the castle has collapsed in on itself. At first it appears time is the culprit, but faint marks and scars along the walls, as well as rusty cannonballs lodged into the ground says otherwise. The castle roof has been replaced by a long black sheet, stretched across the top of the castle, making it difficult to see. With all the rubble on the ground, exits to all parts of the castle can be seen.
This hallway leads from east to west. The hall is covered in cobwebs and dust, and the stone walls look to be falling apart. Pictures and sculptures align the hallway, depicting various activities of people having fun. To the west is the main entrance to the castle, while further onto the east looks to be like a kitchen.
The hallway splits here. To the north the hallway continues, while to the east is the castle kitchen. There are slight footprints in the dust and gravel on the floor heading in all directions. Slight noises of closing doors and footsteps can be heard down the hall as well.
This hallway runs from the east to the west. The hall is covered in cobwebs and dust, and the stone walls look to be falling apart. Pictures and sculptures align the hallway, depicting various activities of people having fun. Back to the east is the main entrance to the castle, while to the west the hallway continues.
The hallway takes a bend here, bending from the east to the north. Echoing footsteps can be heard more quickly now throughout the castle, and there seems to be less dust and cobwebs in the northern direction. The halls here are covered with marks from axes, and what appears to be human bones are strewn throughout the hall.
The hallway splits in all four directions here. To the west appears to be the castle cathedral, while to the east leads towards the center of the castle. It is very drafty here, and the stench of the dead bodies seems to clear up for a moment. To the south is a bend in the hallway, while to the north the hall continues.
This section of the hallway intersects all halls. A slight draft flows here from south to north, and footprints lead in all directions. To the south is the center of the castle, while there is more hallway to both the east and west.
This hallway serves as passage to the center of the castle. The passage to the west leads to the center of the castle, while to the east another hallway looms. Small torches are lit on the walls, suggesting that the castle may in fact still be inhabited.
The hallway splits in four directions here. To the south the hallway leads towards the front of the castle, while to the north the hallway leads further into the castle. To the west the hallway leads into the center of the castle, and to the east there appears to be a door in the wall.
This hallway leads from east to west in the castle. However, footprints in the dust lead to the north, where a barely visible door can be seen outlined in the stone walls.
This is the northeast corner of the castle. To the south the hallway leads to the front of the castle, while to the west leads towards the center of the castle. Small unlit torches line these stony walls and unrecognizable pieces of rotting flesh can be seen on the floor.
This hallway serves as passage to the center of the castle. The passage east leads to the center of the castle, while to the west the hall leads towards the cathedral. Small torches are lit on the walls, suggesting that the castle might still be inhabited.
This hall serves as a passageway to the castle's cathedral. The walls begin to become more illuminated to the west towards the cathedral, and gets darker towards the east, which leads towards the center of the castle.
This hallway in the castle leads from east to west. However, footprints in the dust appear to be headed north, where a barely visible door can be seen in the cracks of the wall.
This small hallway connects the main part of the castle to one of the towers. A few rats scurry by here, infected with some sort of plague, but besides that there are really no distinguishable sounds or movements coming from the castle, just a putrid reek and stench of decaying bodies.
This is the entranceway to the cathedral. Many lights flicker from within, illuminating the rocky walls that make up the cathedral. To the west the hall leads into the cathedral, while to the east the hall leads towards the main part of the castle.
This cathedral was once a temple of another goddess, but was taken over by the minions of Baron when he took over the castle. The altars are now dedicated to the egotistical Baron, and constant chants and prayers are heard echoing throughout the cathedral, praising the unholy works of the Baron.
This altar rests as a dedication to the Baron, for it is where he demands the sacrifice of small children and little animals. The stench of the blood that runs down the altar and contrasts with the red carpet is mixed with the smell of the incense.
This hallway in Baron's cathedral serves as a walkway for his priests and students. The hallway leads north, and turns east to the sacrificial altar.
This is where all followers of Baron are expected to partake in the eating and drinking to the health of the Baron. A few wine glasses lay here empty, and some half-eaten deer parts lie under the table. The walkway leads north and south, while the red carpet leads to the east, heading towards the center of the cathedral.
This hallway serves as a walkway for the priests of Baron and his students. To the south lies the communion table, while to the east lies the altar of Baron, for worshipping the Lord Baron.
This altar room was once an altar to the immortal goddess Claudia, but her priests were deprived of power after the Time of Troubles, and the altar fell into a state of ruin. With the castle taken over, the altar is now dedicated to the Baron, and all are forced to pay their respects.
This hallway serves as a walkway for the Baron's priests and his students. To the west is the altar of the Baron, while to the near south is the entrance to the Cathedral.
This hallway serves as a walkway for the Baron's priests and his students. To the east, aligned with long candles that brighten the entire cathedral, is a red carpet that covers the walkway. To the south is the entrance to the cathedral.
The center of the cathedral has many pews and chairs for those that have come to worship. Red carpets lead in all directions, with tall, thick candles aligning the carpets. To the north is an altar, and a deep smell of incense wafts in from the west. To the south is a sacrificial room, and to the east leads a hallway.
The hallway splits here, heading north, west, and south. Back towards the south is the main entrance to the castle, while to the north appears to be the entrance to one of the towers. To the west a slight smell of a sewer-like substance fills the air, and the humidity begins to rise further to the west.
This room is the entrance to the greenhouse in the castle. Someone who enjoyed plants must have taken care of these in the old days, but years of mistreatment, and no treatment at all have let these plants die out a long time ago. Tons of white, withered plants eaten through by bugs rest in the dirt here, causing a horrid stench. The trail of plants leads north and south.
The greenhouse is composed of many bugs and old dying plants. The few that have survived are lucky that this greenhouse wasn't enclosed by anything, just a direct link to the castle, allowing the rain and sunlight to hit it to keep it alive.
This part of the greenhouse used to house many of the killer-type plants. Lots of big plants, grown fat from the flies that were attracted to the rotten corpses, lay around here, hardly moving. Many other dead plants lie in the dirt, old and withered from time.
Many dying plants are kept here on the outskirts of the greenhouse. A few forest animals come up to nibble on the few remaining plants, but seem to disappear real quick as they head to the north. To the south appears to be many vine-like plants.
This part of the greenhouse contains nothing but vines and vine-like plants. The years gone by, the vines eventually suffocated the life out of the rest of the plants around them. The vines crawl up the walls and all over the floor, reaching, searching.
The greenhouse is composed of many bugs and old dying plants. The few that have survived are lucky that this greenhouse wasn't enclosed by anything, just a direct link to the castle, allowing the rain and sunlight to hit it to keep it alive.
The entrance to the castle kitchen is here. There was once a great deal of people that probably ate here, but now it hardly looks used. A slight smell of rotten meat drifts in from the east, where a large dining room can be seen.
A large stone dining table sits in the middle of the room. There are skeletons of people sitting at the table, with old, rotten, maggot-infested meat and drink in front of them. They appear to have been caught by surprise while eating, and were killed for it. The stench of the bad meat is overwhelming, and grows further to the east, to the actual kitchen. To the north appears to be more tables.
This is the kitchen of the castle. It is in an old, worn down state, and is in bad need of repair. There are many tables about, and many plates of food with rotting meat lie strewn about the room. Many corpses and many bodies appear to have been hacked to bits by swords and axes, and cannot be told apart from the meat. The stench and decay of the bodies is overwhelming, and sickening.
There are more tables in this room, hardly ever used. The dust layer on the table is about an inch thick, and cobwebs are strung throughout the room. This room is silent for the most part, only echoing footsteps can be heard bouncing off the walls. The stench of rotten meat is heavy from the south, where it looks as if the main kitchen was located there.
This room appears to be where the servants of the owners of the castle ate. The room is in pretty good condition, even in its old state of decay. A few wooden tables lie here, along with a couple of stools for chairs. Wooden bowls still filled with a years old watery mush lie on a few of the tables, but the mush appears to have hardened. To the south is the main dining room, while to the east appears to be even more tables.
This tower is crumbling from the years of mistreatment, and has seen its share of battles from the looks of the scars on the walls. The door to this tower has been ripped apart, apparently by those who invaded the castle. The entrance to the base of the tower lies to the north, while south leads back towards the main hall.
The base of the tower is covered with large rocks and soot, possibly from a collapse somewhere in the tower. An old, dusty smell encompasses the room, and makes it difficult to breathe. Echoes of soft footsteps reach the bottom of the tower, alerting to possible danger in the future. A small stairwell leads up the side of the tower.
The stairwell of the tower continues to spiral, leading both up and down. Footsteps now can be heard more clearly, and they appear to come from up above. Many scratches and scars adorn the walls of this stairwell from an old battle fought long ago in this very tower.
Here the tower splits off into four directions. The stairwell is running along the side of the wall leading up further, or back down to the floor of the castle. To the west, a room that no longer has a door on it, for some unknown reason, appears to have cleaning products in it. The path leading to the east appears to lead into a holy place.
Here lies another break in the tower. It is cold and drafty here, coming from a slight breeze to the east. To the west lies a short hall. The stairwell continues up and leads back down as well.
The staircase of the tower continues upwards. Going down would lead to the bottom of the tower and the floor of the castle. The marks and scars on the walls are more numerous than they were in the lower chambers of the tower.
The top of the tower is heavily abused and crumbling from all of the fighting and time that the walls have endured. The stone walls are still stained with lots of blood that time did not erase. Going down leads to the bottom of the tower, while to the east a small walkway leads towards a small room.
This room leads to the private rooms of the former owner of the tower. These rooms appear to be the private worshipping rooms of the owner. To the north appears to be a bath chamber of some type, while to the south appears to be a small room. To the east is a small shrine dedicated to the god of the owner, while to the west the hall leads back to the stairwell.
This room appears to be a bathing chamber. The room was probably once well used, but now it looks run down and old. Giant mold grows on the floor where water was spilled on the stone floor and never cleaned up. The room smells very musty and there is a small pit where the bath water used to be. Holy Symbols are affixed to the walls around the room, and a small sign with writing on it is placed in the middle of the back wall for all to read.
This room is a small, private sanctuary. The room is relatively small, which reinforces the enormous table in the middle of the room. The table is not dusty at all, and looks quite well kept up. The room is crisp and clean, and unlike many of the others, this room seems to emit a magical tension that strains the very fabric of the universe that this room was built on.
A holy shrine rests here, cracked and crumbled like the rest of the castle, but it appears to be a shrine to Tempus, Lord of Battle. Once a sacred place, it has not been destroyed by time, but by others who attempted to disgrace the former owner of the tower. The room still smells of a holy fragrance, as if the ceremonies still went on today, as if kept alive by a magical force. The reverent feeling of this room soothes your soul. The exit lies back toward the west.
This is, or used to be, a closet in the tower. Broken brooms and buckets lie on the floor of this room, and small vials of something that smells like cleaning fluid are on the wall, the few that aren't broken and lying on the ground. The door leading to the east has been ripped off its hinges and is nowhere to be found.
This room appears to have been a small closet. Old, torn, and tattered clothing lies strewn about, as well as a few unusable weapons. A small crack in a rock in the wall lets in a small draft, which chills the air. To the west the hall leads back to the stairwell.
This small hall branches off in all directions. To the north and south appear to be bedrooms, while to the east is the stairwell. To the west appears to be a small practice chamber for fighting.
This was the apparent bedchamber of the owner of the tower. An old, rickety wooden bed lies here, smashed to pieces, and old bits of cloth and covering lie everywhere. Blood covers the bits of cloth and the floor, and a wooden dresser and rack lie smashed to pieces in the corner of the room.
Here lies another bedchamber, opposite of the one to the north. It appears that this room was used by a friend of the owner of the castle, according to the sign in blood on the wall. The room is just like all of the others: broken furniture all over the room, the door ripped off of the hinges, and lots of battle marks on the walls.
This room appears to have served as a training room for battle. Empty weapon racks align the walls, as well as a few illegible writings and pictures on the walls that probably served as instructions to young students who were training.
This room is where the inhabitant of the tower apparently kept his treasure. The room has long since been raided, and this appears to be the worst room in the whole tower. The room's walls are cut up, scratched, and black from the fires that the raiders brought with them. A small crack in the roof lets in a bit of light which shines down on the cold stone floor that is only covered by a shabby rug, still stained from the fighting long ago. A small, unlit candle is positioned on a shelf that was once used for trophies.
This small dusty passageway leads from north to south. Dust covers the floor in here. It appears as if no one has walked here in awhile. All is dark, and there is a slight tangy smell in the air, bitter to the nose.
This room appears to have housed a few items and treasures of the castle owners. It is a very small room, and lots of dust fills the air, covering many objects.
This short hallway has been decorated with lots of maps of battles and the like. Paintings of old fighters and mages are hanging on the wall. They appear to be pictures of the old leaders of the armies of the castle.
The hallway takes a turn here, bending from south to east. To the south leads back towards the center of the castle, while tiny whispers of voices to the east seem to be discussing something very important.
This short hallway leads from west to east. To the east the hall opens up into a larger room, while to the west the hallway continues.
This room serves as the entrance to the war room. This place served as the place where battles would be thought out beforehand by the leaders of the armies. A hallway runs here from north to south, and back east towards the castle.
This is the northwest corner of the war room. Many maps and small wooden figures are set on the tables in the form of armies, as those involved developed their strategies in these rooms.
This room served as a weapons intelligence room. New weapons were designed here for fighting the battles that the castle would find itself in, in order to fight a more efficient fight. Empty weapon racks align the walls, and a few unused forges lie in the corner of the room.
This hallway leads from north to south in the war room of the castle. A small door can be seen to the east from cracks in the stones of the wall.
This corner of the war room has been destroyed by time. Some crushed rocks and broken wooden tables lie here in shambles. The hall leads to the north and to the west.
Here is a small corner of the war room. There are more tables with more maps spread out on them. Small-unlit candles have dripped wax long ago on the maps, making them illegible now. The hall continues north and east.
This room served as the planning room for any upcoming battles the castle was planning to fight. Many maps and sketches lie strewn about the room, but a large table in the middle of the room lies cleared off, with a large map placed on it and written on many times, possibly the plans of the last battle. Unfortunately, the plans are illegible, and the map crumbles as the slightest breath hits it.
This short hall leads westward towards the second tower of the castle. Many marks and runes appear on the walls of the hall, as if the tower belonged to a magic-user. Back to the west lies the center of the castle.
This is the base of the tower. Much rock and dust has settled at the base of this tower, with burn marks covering the rocks. Other signs of a blast include the many charred bodies that lie at the base of this tower, too burnt to be recognizable. A small stairwell, almost blocked by the rocks, leads upwards.
This tower stairwell is in very bad condition. Many pieces are missing from the stairs, broken from falling rock, creating large gaps in between the steps. The stairwell leads upward towards the rest of the tower, and down to the castle.
Here the stairwell breaks off to head east and west into a few small rooms. The stairwell continues upward, and it becomes harder and harder to walk up the broken stairwell.
Here lies a split in the tower. To the east lies the mage's laboratory and libraries, while to the west is a small indentation in the wall. The stairwell stops here, apparently destroyed in some blast, so there is no chance to walk to the top of the tower.
The stairwell here no longer exists. What once was here probably lies at the bottom of the tower. To the west is a ledge appearing to lead into some type of hall.
The stairwell here has been completely destroyed and probably is a part of the rocks at the bottom of the tower. A small ledge to the east appears to support a small room.
The stairwell here remains intact, and evolves into a small stone ledge that serves as the room at the top of the tower. The stairwell below seems to have been destroyed by some force that holds residence in this room. The floor is covered in bits and pieces of rock, and appears to have been eaten through. The floor is harsh to walk on, possibly cutting one's feet.
This was a small bedroom in the tower used to house guests. A few shattered things lie about the room, like a cabinet and table, but the room is basically bare.
This was a small bedroom in the tower used to house guests. A few shattered things lie about the room, like a cabinet and table, but the room is basically bare.
This small room was actually once a wall of the tower, until the mage started experimenting. There are hardly any burn marks here on the wall, but there are many indentations in the wall, in the shape of a human body, as if the mage had rocketed down the hall like a cannonball more than once...
This hallway leads to the east, towards the mage's laboratory and libraries. Flame and burn marks scar the walls here, apparently originating somewhere from the east. To the west lies the stairwell.
The walls are extremely scorched here, clearly marking the directions north and south that split off from the main hallway. Pieces of human bones and skulls are lodged partly into the sides of the wall, staring blankly in mute horror towards the east, to the mage's lab, probably for intruding where they shouldn't have. To the west leads back towards the tower.
This hall is the entrance to the mage's laboratory. The door to the east appears to have been partially disintegrated, and it lies molded into the wall, as if some powerful force had blown it open. This hall is covered in blackened soot, as if a mighty fire had raged through it. To the west leads back towards the stairwell.
This room contains all of the mage's experiments, including potions and spells. The room is pitch black from the burn marks on the walls, from all of the experiments blowing up. Many beakers and potions, all empty, lie broken on the floor.
A Book labeled 'Fireball' lies on a table here...it glows softly...it hums powerfully.
This small room appears to have been used for the storing of potions and beakers. Many beakers and potions alike lie broken on the floor of the room.
This room serves as an entrance to the mage's libraries and books. The entrance is embroidered in many fine and fancy artistic drawings and sculptures. To the east leads towards the library, while to the north leads back into the hall.
Here is where the mage of the tower kept all his books and tomes of magic. The shelves and bookcases still lean up against the wall and glow with a magic that kept them together through all of the rampaging and destruction.
This little hallway connects the tower to the mage's private quarters. His living quarters lie to the west, while the tower lies back towards the east.
This hallway in the mage's private quarters splits to the north. To the west appears to be some of the mage's personal belongings, while to the north appears to be a private room. Back to the east is the tower.
This room was the place where the mage apparently lived. There is an old wooden bed lying broken in the corner. Little notches on the wall mark the passing of time, or was it something else... Papers and scrolls lie scattered about the room, with incoherent writing and spells.
Here lies the mage's private worshipping place to the drow god Claudia, the great drow priestess. A symbol of an old drow mage in the midst of combat is hanging on the wall, and many old books and writings adorn the room. A few old braziers still stay in the corners of the rooms, waiting to be lit once again in the worship of their god.
This small bedroom was probably used for guests of the mage. A few broken pieces of furniture lie about the room, but nothing is of a salvageable nature. A small ledge can be seen to the north, that was probably once used as a balcony.
This small ledge overlooks the dark forest which surrounds the castle. The air is crisp and freezing up this high, and is bitter to both your eyes and nose. Aside from the wind, nothing can be seen or heard except the forest, and a giant dark cloud that looms in the distance.
This room is a small continuation of the kitchen. A small collection of wood is stored here for making the cooking fires. Corpses of small animals lie here, dead from eating the rotten and diseased meat of the corpses. Flies seem to be having a field day with a few of the corpses, and the stench of rotten bodies and decay is at its worst.
This hallway was once a well kept secret. The rug above apparently hid it well, since there are really no signs of fighting at all, but there are many trails of blood leading to the east. Perhaps it leads to a hidden treasure of the owner of the tower.
The tunnel continues here, from east to west. To the west leads back to the tower, while to the east the tunnel appears to end. A few smashed barrels lie around here, and from them wafts a strong alcoholic odor. A few dead bodies lie in the room, holding mugs and cups in their hands.
This room appears to be a storage chamber of some sort. There are many barrels filled with a wine-like substance, and it appears as if this were a private stash of the owner of the tower. Many drunken nights were probably spent here after the great fighting occurred, seen from the few corpses that are still in the room with empty mugs lying next to their bony skeletons.
A heavy spell of gloom hangs about in this room, seemingly to prevent passage. The walls are adorned in pictures of necromancers and vile temptresses, hard at work in their own respective fields. Crude sketches of death are painted all about, and it is a frightening portrayal of what did, or still does, lurk in this castle.
This room is adorned with the same pictures as before, yet it carries the different tools of the necromancer and vile temptress: A few pairs of restraints, a lot of iron chains left in the corner, jars with the ashes of dead men, and many more tools of death. A small crack in the stone wall lets in a drafty breeze, while the stone ceiling is held up by wooden support beams.
The emergence into the darkness of the underground stimulates the senses. The smell of mold growing on the rocky cavern walls remains putrid, and clogs up the breathing passages. Beads of sweat form as it is a very confining quarters in here, and the wall space is tight. The sound of a trickling water can be heard in the room and grows more intense to the south.
The tunnel here begins to open up more from north to south. The walls are cold and moist, and droplets of dew fall from the cavern walls above.
The tunnel splits into three directions here. To the south the sound of running water increases. To the west a few silent whispers can be heard, while to the east there appears to be no sound. Back to the north lies the entrance to this cavern.
This off shooting tunnel leads from east to west. The sounds of quiet whispers and a small shuffling can be heard from the west, while back towards the east is the main tunnel.
The tunnel continues here, taking a twist to the south. More shuffling of papers can be heard, as well as quiet whispers towards the south.
This appears to be an entrance to some sort of tomb. Many signs and various symbols appear to say to keep away, and a few of the signs depict a dark-robed man with a skeleton-like hand, holding a holy book.
Here the tunnel splits into all directions. To the west the sounds of shuffling and quiet whispers continues, while to the south there are even more whispers. The way east is unsettlingly silent.
This pathway leads toward part of the library that was kept in these parts. Crude drawings of necromantic symbols and rituals are imprinted on the wall here, along with a few other scribbles of jokesters. The library appears to be towards the south.
Here is part of the library that the occupant of these rooms once kept. The books on the shelves glow magically, and tend to rearrange themselves from time to time.
This Library contains old books and scrolls from the occupant of this Underdark realm. A large picture of a dark-robed man, pointing his skeleton-like hand towards you, remains predominant in the background. The books on the shelves glow, and appear to be moving themselves.
A slight breeze flows through the room from the east. Pictures of skeletons being raised from their graves adorn these rocky walls and in the center, a mysterious dark figure with a hand that appears skeleton like. Everything tends to grow silent further in the room, and to the south there appears to be quiet whispers.
This is the burial tomb of the mage or cleric who roamed these Underdark caverns. The magical aura about the room suggests all is not right with the room...but then again, nothing ever is with a necromancer.
This tunnel is small and cramped. There are sounds and quiet whispers leading back towards the west, but towards the east is silence. A small path can be seen in the distance to the east.
A small path lies here, made up of tiny rocks and pebbles. This path starts here and leads towards the south. It is very silent in this cavern, nothing can be heard, not even footsteps.
The small path of rocks continues here, and heads towards the east. The cavern is completely silent.
The stone path leads up to a small set of doors in this cavern, unusual to be in a cavern. However, the doors have long since ago been broken, and no longer work. They are on the floor in a heap. Towards the east appears to be some sort of bedchamber.
These caverns were used as the living space of the previous occupant to these Underdark realms. A carving in the wall has a big symbol meaning that prayers are going on, and all should remain silent for the time being, because these were personal rooms.
A small altar, or what remains of one, lies here. Destroyed by time, or evil minions, this old stone altar once heard the prayers of many a young soul. Now only a few drop by to visit it, and they are not going to worship. A small bed lies to the south, belonging to the owner, or maybe creator of the altar.
The cavern opens up into a larger cavern here, used as a living space. A small stone bench, used as a bed, lies in the corner, as well as a small closet that lies towards the west, used for the belongings of the owner.
This tiny little walking space in the cavern served as a storage area for all the stuff that came by down here in the dark. It now collects all of the trash and junk from its current occupants.
The sounds of running water increase when heading from north to south. The air around seems to become thicker, denser, harder to breathe. Water glistens from the tunnel walls and roof, and the only way to go is south, or back north.
Here lies another branch in the caverns that lie beneath the castle. Towards the south the sound of water is heard, while to the east a trail of blood is seen.
The tunnel continues here from north to south. The air is really getting dense with water, and the walls seem to ooze water and fungus from their very pores. The smell of dampness and mold runs rampant in the air, and the sound of water to the south is deafening.
The small, tunnel-like cavern ends here. The sound of running water echoes all throughout the cavern, echoing off the walls and causing ears to hurt. A green, fungus-like substance can be seen covering the walls of the cavern, and the dampness of the air causes clothes to stick and grow heavy with water. The fungus is spread about the entire room, shooting up to a small ledge near the top of the cavern, and moves down to cover rocks on the floor. There are also small slivers of glass embedded in the moss, causing what little light there is to reflect and shine around the small cavern.
This rocky hallway branching off from the main cavern heads towards the south here. A trail of blood can be seen on the ground, and the walls appear to have a few streaks of blood on them as well.
The rocky cavern walls widen here, and the walls of the hallway merge into a massive archway leading further into the hall. It appears to be an entrance of some sort, with the trail of blood leading through the arch.
The trail of blood leads on from west to east, and a few moans from the east become apparent. An occasional shriek of pain cries out every now and then, but the hall returns to normal, and there are no sounds.
The stone walls seem to move closer and closer towards the east. Small torches on the wall still have a few embers that burn, but it is not enough to put light into the room. The trail of blood seems to just spread out here, in all directions covering the floor of the cavern. Soft moans can be heard from the south, as well as a few shrieks and snarls.
A large room to the east appears to be a checkpoint for anyone trying to go further east. This entrance hall is short and narrow, and leads back out to the main rooms to the west.
A large bed is contained in this room. A few iron manacles lie attached to the front rail of the bed, and to the side of the bed, various sorts of torture devices can be seen.
A large pit has been dug here in the middle of the room. Corpses of victims lie scattered about in the pit, appearing to have been bitten or chewed on. The smell of flesh comes from all around, but the main stench arises from the east.
Many trails of blood and footsteps are on the ground here. A few unrecognizable body parts lay scattered in the corner here, and the trail leads to the east, where a massive stench arises.
A large pile of a collection of many things lies here. In the pile appears to be leftover body parts, lots of fecal matter, and a few million flies. All of the leftovers of the victims of the torture get placed here, rather than cremation or a proper burial.
The room is moderately dark, because a few wax candles on the wall give off a dull glow of light. A large iron rack leans up against the wall, with restraints for both wrists and ankles. In the middle of the room lies a large black table encompassed with large black spikes, and the table and rack are covered with lots of blood.
A large rack is in this room. The walls are rocky and stained with blood, as well as the rack. The rack is composed of two large wooden boards, and between them is about a million sharp items sticking up: razors, slivers of glass, and nails.
This underground cavern is filled with sea water. Tiny fish swim by in schools, and the ground is covered with a sand-like substance. Back up leads towards the castle, while this small underwater chamber continues to the east.
This underwater chamber continues here, the water flowing east to west. The water flows lazily, and it appears to hardly move at all sometimes. The signs of life in here are still abundant, with many fish swimming about. A few lobsters and sponges can be seen on the floor of the cavern.
The river still flows from west to east here, but appears to move faster and faster, as if the water was being sucked towards some point in the chamber.
Off the sandy beach, the forest appears to lurk about with a certain gloom about it. Entering the forest, it only appears to be worse off than before further into the forest. More mud, vines, and bare trees cluster together in the forest, making travel uncomfortable.
The forest is thick and murky here. Old pieces of stale moss hang down from the trees, and a few owl hoots come from somewhere in the forest. The smell of burnt flesh comes from the south, while to the north a few of the bushes rustle.
The forest becomes darker, and the forest canopy becomes thicker further to the south. The mud is increasingly thicker, and is about knee-high. A slight breeze from the south carries the smell of burnt flesh.
The woods tend to grow thicker here, and many branches and limbs hang in the way of any trail. In fact, the woods are so thick, any attempt to trace the route back is impossible, the mud seems to have filled in any trace of a trail.
The woods are extremely dense here, with trees in every path hanging their wet, damp limbs in the way. The smell of wet moss fills the air, and small bushes scrape by the legs of any adventurers walking by them. The mud is thick here, and small bugs can be seen moving around in the wet earth.
The woods seems to clear up here, and the ground becomes more dirt and less mud. A small trail can be seen cleared in between a few of the trees leading to the east. The sounds of forest animals seems a bit clearer as well, and a nice breeze flows through the trees.
A small clearing has been made here in the dark woods. A grassy field is here instead of trees, and a few flowers grow in the field, blooming as if it were springtime. The sounds of forest animals is abundant, and the field seems alive, unlike the dark surrounding woods.
The water seems to flow faster downwards. All signs of marine life around has disappeared, but a few tiny plants and seaweed can be seen being pulled down.
The water is flowing even faster here, no longer heading down, but east. The water still seems to move faster.
The water flows here swiftly from west to east. More and more plant life, and even a few fish, swim right by.
The water begins to flow downwards again, and it moves pretty swiftly, making it harder to swim.
The water here begins to pool in this large cavern, but the force of the water flowing on you is too great to swim back up. You continue downwards and further on down, to face a certain death.
The water here seems stagnant, and doesn't seem to flow as much to the east. The walls of the cavern seem to become stone further along to the east, unlike the rocky walls in the west.
The walls of this room appear to be manmade walls. It is as if this part of the castle was submerged underwater. There is no sign of sea life anywhere, and the sandy floor has also changed into a stone floor, like the castle.
The hallway splits off here, with a pair of stairs heading both up and down. The water tends to drift casually further to the east.
This room appears to have been a storage chamber of some sort. A few small chests lie in the corner of the room, as well as a few boxes and trunks. The stairwell heads down.
The stairs from up above appear to lead into some private chambers of some sort. This room is dome-shaped, with the stairs leading out the top. The walls are pure stone blocks, and the room is empty.
This room is kept basically simple. One defining feature is a desk kept in the corner of the room that appears to be untouched. It was probably used for some sort of studying.
This room appears to be lived in. A small twin-sized bed leans up against the west wall, while a small chest of drawers sits right next to it. A small table with a few chairs is set along the north wall.
This room appears to be undisturbed. A small queen-sized bed lies in the middle of the room, the sheets tucked in nicely. A small dresser is placed in the corner of the north wall, and a few more random personal items lay about the room.
As the water drifts along here, the room looks more and more like what was up in the castle. Remnants of paintings long since ruined by the flowing water stick close to the walls, and small marble sculptures and busts lie broken on the floor.
The water comes to the end of this hallway and just seems to stop and sit. The water can be seen in both the northern and southern directions.
The water here flows gently from north to south. A few sponges can be seen growing on the floor of the room, and they continue to the north. There doesn't appear to be any sea-life swimming around.
The southern hallway ends here and bends to the west. The water slows down even from the speed it is now, and slowly begins to flow west. A few wooden cabinets lay broken on the floor here, washed empty of their contents.
The sand on the floor looks to be a bit thicker than normal. Many dark holes appear in the sand then disappear as soon as they appear. The water flow begins to slow down to a crawl, and flows through a path to the west.
The water comes to a gentle stop here in this small room. A few chairs lie around a table in the middle of the room, and a large stone statue stands against the far wall. A map of the forest can be seen on the wall, but the water has all but erased it.
The water here flows in from the north and heads south, picking up small pieces of the castle that flow by as it goes. A few chairs, a few bones, and a few small creatures of sea-life can be seen swimming by, they appear to be in no rush.
The water flowing in from the north gently switches direction here and begins to flow to the east. Some small fish slowly swim by and ignore most everything else.
The water here drops once again downwards, but there is enough to flow lazily onto the east. A few bones float nearby, as well as a human head on a plaque. A rusty statue of a guard in armor leans up against the wall of the room, and slowly appears to bob its head.
This room appears to be a small trophy room. Small heads of animals, dragons, and humans alike have been mounted on the stone wall, staring through their blank, zombie eyes. A small sign is above the heads of the humans on the wall. The stone wall is put together unevenly around the heads, with many cracks in the stones appearing. A long, thin stone juts out from the wall poking swimmers in the eye. A small tapestry is left up against the northern wall, depicting a skeleton with a knife in his back.
The water outside stops at the gate door near the lever. It just sits there, not moving, as if some invisible wall of old magic keeps it out. Or is it to keep something else in? The room branches out into a small room to the west, and a small fog seems to be entering the room from there.
The room is dark and filled with a fog like mist. On the walls are many mirrors. A small cot lies in the middle of the room, but the room is rather sparse. A small table lies in the corner of the room with a plate of food on it, untouched.
A lot of sand covers the stone floor of the castle again, and gentle movements in the water stirs up the sand every now and then, revealing a bit of the stone floor. A few pieces of seaweed float about lazily in the water, as well as a few pieces of the castle furniture from up above.
Many small fish seem to swim around here. There is much sand on the ground, and the water is very cold. A few floating skeleton parts flow by, but a lot of the bones just sink further down. Small overturned chairs comprise this room, and lead the way to the east.
The water here is extremely cold and doesn't move much. Tiny cracks in the stone walls of the cavern appear to seep out bits of water a little bit at a time. The floor here is covered with rocks and little sea molds. Little plants of kelp flow gently in the pull of the water.
This room is very bright and shiny. It is one very large room, with a giant bathtub that is filled with bubbles. A few flowers adorn the room: bright red roses, bright yellow sunflowers, deep blue lilacs, etc. The bubble bath looks very comfortable, and looks to be just the thing for relaxation. The sun shines brightly in through the window, and soft romantic music pipes into the room from an unknown radio.
Empty
Here the watery chamber splits in a few directions. A majority of the water flows down, and seems to pull in that direction. Still, water flows to the east, but the surface and breathable air is back towards the west.
After falling for some time, the river slowly straightens out. It begins to flow gently, and comes to a stop here at a narrow ledge in the cavern walls. Heading upwards would appear to lead out of the cavern and onto dry land.
Emerging from a watery cavern, there appears to be a sandy beach. Unlike normal beaches, it has pure white sand, and there appears to be no shells or rocks cluttering the beach. The clouds overhead loom threateningly, and it appears as if it is going to rain again. Towards the east the beach merges with a forest.
This small cavern exists below the water chamber, and it appears that there is some sort of magical force that keeps it from flooding when the cavern is opened at the top. The water above just sits, and does not threaten to flood. The chamber is dark and dreary, and is crowded with many rocks. A path seems to have been cleared to the south however, for someone, or something, extremely huge.
The rocky cavern here begins to look more and more like stone walls again, and a large path appears on the ground, opening up into a larger room to the south.
The rocky cavern walls mold themselves into a large stone chamber, and the water flows south down the hall. Large torches in oily rags burn brightly on the sides of the wall, revealing small drawings and pictures of the Baron's victims. The pictures themselves show the charred bodies of small families, and the painting theme is a dark and stormy night. The ground here is covered in a dirty, but fancy red carpet, which leads towards the south.
This small room adjacent to the hall serves as a guard's resting room, when they aren't on duty. A few beds are placed against the wall, and a rack with a few clothes on it stands in the corner of the room. Small candles light the room as they stand on the dressers next to the beds.

This hall begins to fill with a small mist and dense fog, and the humidity of the air increases tenfold. The walls of the hall spread further apart, and the torches seem to flicker and dim. Small bugs in the corner of the room nibble on what appears to be charred flesh. The carpet begins to become a bit damper, but still leads towards the south.
The torches on the wall are extinguished, and the room is shot into pure darkness. A now thick mist fills the room, and water begins to form on the objects in the hall. The hall almost seems to double in size again, and the walls seem alive, almost moving. The red carpet leads on to the south.
The red carpet stops here at two massive oak doors embossed with the finest jewels and gems. The hall is still dark, and soft moans of pain and agony can be heard echoing through the hall. The walls seem to bleed here, and a thick mist from under the doors makes it hard to see.
This room is set below most of the other rooms, and is filled partially with water, allowing sea life to flourish. Signs of death and destruction are drawn about the room, and much of the furniture is overturned.
The room contains all of the Baron's personal things. A large bed lies in the corner, as well as a trunk and closet in the corner of the room. The exit west appears to lead to the Baron's treasury.
The room appears to be where the Baron kept all his treasures. Unfortunately, most of his treasures were the corpses of people he had slain in combat. The room is well lit by many torches, making the room seem to shine with a golden light. The walls are decorated by blood-red drapes that hang well down to the floor, and the floor is covered by a gleaming golden rug.
This forest path is filled with branches and vines that make travel difficult. The pathway is all muddy from the rain, and a slight chilling breeze can be felt from the north. Along with the still-threatening storm clouds, travel in the forest will not be as easy as first thought.
The small town of Florin lingers to the south. Any movement north is blocked by the immense forest, and the tree branches and vines that entangle the entire forest. The forest path is one giant mud pit, with the fresh rain covering the plants and mixing with the dirt.
A mage's spells are his life, and aren't so easily gained! A trap waiting for intruders to the room goes off, and you are picked up off the floor in an intense wave of heat. As all of your belongings instantly scrap and fall to the ground, you see from the burning flesh of your eyes the approaching wall. This is going to leave a mark.
As you slip by the wall, you slowly begin to fall faster and The current of the water takes you in its waters and where you end up, who knows.
This is a small, hollowed, dug out room, used for hiding away from intruders to the cavern. Hiding that is, away from those who tried to enter the rooms of the person who inhabited these dark caverns and tunnels. Tiny grooves in the wall make it possible to climb out of the room.
Before you looms a great, crystal-blue ocean. It is the clearest and cleanest water you have ever seen in your life. You are standing on a clean, sandy white beach that is cool to your feet in the cold night air. A small campfire is here, crackling and being blown by the breeze of the ocean. The stars are out in full tonight, not a cloud in the sky, and the moon shines down a most heavenly light on you, cleansing your soul and making you feel like nothing in the world could ever bring you down. It is a romantic place to be, and you see some couples off in the far distance taking a walk together in the surf, but here you are alone, only the stars are watching.
Torches on the wall light this small room. A small, fluffy bed can be seen in the corner, covered by a dark blue comforter. A large sign on the wall has something written on it, and on either side of the sign is a statue. A window to the west leads towards the ocean.
This room is a paradise on Earth. A nice huge waterbed lies in the center of the room, and on the wall is a huge television and radio with eight speakers for surround sound, along with a new subwoofer. A computer sits in the corner of the room on a desk, kept up-to-date by its owner. Tons of computer parts are strewn all about the room, but in the corner is a nice easy recliner that stays free of the excess computer parts and is perfect for falling asleep in when watching a boring movie. Bags of chips and bottles of soda are set off the side, probably from previous nights. This is a great place to hang out before a Friday night on the town.
This garage is where one goes to kick back, relax, and game nonstop. A big white table is in the middle of the room, covered with character sheets, books, and lots of dice. Surrounding the table are two old worn couches and an old recliner, with white plastic chairs for anybody walking in late. An old refrigerator sits back in the corner, stocked with loads of soda, buffalo wings, and ingredients for making subs. The garage door is left partially open for air, and cars fill the driveway. A small door can be seen to the south, leading to a different part of the realm, but all are welcome to stay here and game.
