Trees and other woody vegetation dominate the area. The ground is very moist and seems very fertile. Animals can be heard in the distance as birds fly from tree to tree overhead. A small dirt path leads east into the gloomy forest.
This area is much darker. The trees seem to be much fuller and the sky can hardly be seen. The animal sounds are slowly getting louder. The plant life is diverse and profuse. Leaves are scattered over the entire area almost totally blanketing the path leading north and west.
A huge set of ancient gates are in place here. Giant trees can be seen to the south, but this area seems to be a clearing of sort. The gates seem alive with magic. Rows of flowers and interesting vegetation can vaguely be seen to the east and to the north.
Dead flowers and trees dominate the section of the garden. It looks like the garden would have been breathtaking while all of the plants were in bloom. Wildlife still wanders these areas, but it is doubtful that any of them are native to the area.
Again, all that can be seen is dead vegetation. This once beautiful forest has been pillaged of its life. It looks like it hasn't rained here in months, as the hardened trail continues north, east and west.
This section of the garden seems to be void of anything. No signs of life and no dead plants like in the rest of the garden. There does seem to be a mossy residue left on the ground, but it is really faint and very hard to decipher.
This section of the garden is beautiful. The sky is in full view while the plant life grows in abundance. The soil seems almost magical as immense life grows from this section with ease. Animal noises are loud here because of the area rich in life.
A small stone pathway through a once great garden is in place here. Many withered flowers are in the ground here. A variety of giant animal tracks can be seen. Whoever created this garden must have gotten sick of the enormous workload keeping it beautiful. The path east takes you towards the middle of the garden while a stone path heads north.
More dried up plants can be seen here, but the soil seems to be a little more fertile. The soil is still rather dry, but it is very rich and dark. Still the vegetation is not growing here but it looks like some blossoming plants can be seen ahead to the east. The trails south and west take you to the outer parts of the garden.
Weeds are sprouting out of the ground here. Other plant vegetation can not be seen. By the smell of the area, it is possible to tell that many large animals frequent this area. All directions lead to different parts of the garden, except for the northern path which is blocked off by a huge pile of dung.
Even more vegetation is alive here. Even some flowery plants and some small trees are alive. It is odd that life is so plentiful here and so barren at the other side of the garden. All exits lead to other parts of the garden but the trail north looks especially colorful.
The garden is alive with the sound of nature. Trees tower above the earth, and tiny wildlife scatter about. The ground is very soft and deep colored. Trails are scattered around and they all seem to head to different parts of the garden.
The garden seems to be a bit greener here. The view is still rather ugly looking but more life seems to have survived in this section of the garden. A huge block of wood can be seen to the northeast while east and south lead through the garden.
The trail leads through the interior of the garden. The sky can be seen from here. Giant trees can be seen off in the distance, as smaller plant life blankets the ground. Trace bits of some parasitic activity can be seen on the undersides of the plants. All exits seem to lead to the garden.
A rather large pond sits here. The area seems to smell because of the large amount of feces scattered in the area. Life seems bountiful here, as the animals flock to the water source. Trails through the garden can be seen to the west and to the north.
Flowers of all different shapes, sizes, and colors are in bloom here. This sight is rather spectacular. Birds swiftly fly overhead, while small creatures can be heard frolicking in the distance. The sky seems bright and the earth seems gentle. Different paths through the garden branch off from here, but it is doubtful anything will be this beautiful.
The trail seems like a road to nowhere. Strange animal noises echo in the distance. The vegetation here is sparse and the soil is rather dry. The path continues to the north, south, and west.
A small wooden cabin is to the east. It is difficult to see inside the cabin because of the dirt covered windows. A strange looking moss covers the outside of the cabin and almost seems alive. The landscaping outside of the cabin is mediocre at best.
This is a standard wooden cabin. The furniture seems rather untidy and dust lies everywhere. Dried up blood can be seen in the corner, and a couple windows seem shattered. The owner of the cabin seems to have forgotten about this place. A small desk with a nice brown journal sits in the corner.
This area seems rather marshy. The ground is drenched and small little puddles can be seen everywhere. Animals walk by and take little notice to their surroundings. A trail south leads to a body of water and a trail to the north leads back to the rest of the garden.
This trail leads north away from the main section of the garden or south to a spectacular view. A faint drumbeat can barely be heard to the northeast. The plant life is what one would expect in such a garden.
The trail seems to be getting darker to the north. The garden is filled with animals and plants. The trees seem to be getting larger but the amount of wildlife seem to be diminishing here. The southern exit leads into the garden, while the trail east leads into the unknown.
This section of the garden has a huge number of animal tracks coming from the west. Claws, hooves and footprints can all be seen in the soft, rich mud. A fence closes off the north side, and trails through the garden lie to the east and south. One can only wonder why all these animals of different environments have come here from the west.
Nature does not seem right here. Books written in an archaic tongue are scattered and torn all over the place. Strong winds gust through this space every now and then making it difficult to keep your balance. A cabin lies to the south.
The garden is rather stunning here. The plant life is rather incredible and beautiful. The only thing keeping this place from being perfect is the pathway of moss blanketing part of the area. Smoke seems to rise a ways to the east and a cabin can be seen to the southwest.
The path leads through a section of the field containing a lot of bushes. Smaller animals seem to enjoy eating here because of the great number of tiny tracks in the dirt. Pathways to the garden lead in all directions except north.
The garden seems to end here. It looks rather similar to the rest of the garden. The garden continues to the south and to the west, but strange rhythmic poundings are coming from the deep forest to the east.
The animal footprints are abundant here as well. Some rotted corpses can be seen on the side of the path. This part of the forest emanates death as the rotting corpses have produced quite a smell. Only one set of humanoid footprints can be seen out of the hundreds of animal tracks coming from the south.
A great fire burns here next to a lake. A makeshift tent has been left behind and there is an enormous amount of dung in the area. All these creatures roaming around must have once been summoned here for protection. No exits from this area can be seen except for the path to the north.
This pathway leads into complete darkness. From what little can be made out, the trail drops south into the mouth of a cave of some sort. The path underfoot is worn rather smooth, and the garden lies back to the west.
Nothing can be seen in here. Even with aids, it is nearly impossible to make anything out. Light flickers faintly back to the north, at the mouth of the cave, while a passage leads deeper inside to the south.
The stench of guano and rotting flesh is strong here. The holey, rotting corpses of fallen warriors hang like grotesque stalactites from the ceiling of the cave. The inside of the cave presents nothing but pure darkness. Terror pulses from the walls of the cave, growing with each passing minute.
This path slopes downward sharply revealing a camp of some sort to the northeast. There are row after row of large tents, and there is some sort of movement among this encampment. Further to the north there is another garden of sorts, but it lies beyond this strange encampment.
The path levels off here. There is a loud bustling noise coming from the encampment to the northeast. Whoever resides in these tents sure seems busy doing something. There appears to be a good place to take a look at the camp to the east, and the path starts sloping downward to the north.
The path continues to slope downward toward the strange encampment. The path turns sharply east and right toward the tents. Bloody spears and swords litter this section of the path and the rumble of the camp is getting steadily louder. A sign is posted here that is written in an unintelligible tongue, except for the huge skull in its upper section.
This is the entrance to the Rakshasa camp. A guard post is set up to protect the encampment from unwanted intruders. Many slain explorers' corpses can be seen here. It is obvious that these Rakshasa creatures do not take kindly to visitors.
Tents crowd in on every side, and there is mass movement in the shadows between them, making the way difficult. The path runs south to a split in the barren rocky trail, and back west to the guard post. Further south, an extremely large tent can be seen with a black flag flapping from its top: all black, with a red diagonal line through it.
A trail branches off the path here heading east while a ways south lies a large tent with a black flag. To the east a giant bonfire can be seen blazing. Farther east and a little south is another somewhat larger tent with a black flag flying above it. It would seem these two tents house important Rakshasa individuals.
Tents line the east and west sides of this path, but to the east one might be able to squeeze between two of the tents. A rotting Rakshasa corpse stinks up the path. Apparently, he didn't make it to see a healer in time.
This tent is even larger than it looked from several paces back up the path. Five or six other tents could easily fit inside this dwelling, and something very powerful must reside here. A guard station is set up in front of the opening to the south, and the path leads back north. The loud flapping of the black flag with a red diagonal line through it makes it difficult to hear anything at all.
This tent is very dark inside. A dim light seems to glow over a body which seems very unnatural. A large granite throne sits in the center of the light. The only other visible thing inside of the tent is a picture of what looks like the Maharajah, yet somewhat different.
A gigantic bonfire rises high above the surrounding tents. Its intense heat warms the tribe and cooks their food, and small morsels are scattered all around it among the blood stains in the dirt. Paths lead east and west through the tribe, and a narrow gap between two tents opens to the south.
The amount of blood in this area is gruesome. The ground is filled with the color of blood. Various limbs are scattered outside of the tent. Different organs lay twitching in the dirt, while fluids squirt out of them with each contortion.
The healer's tent is almost completely empty. A small bowl of horse meat which appears to be supper. A large jar of leeches sits on a ledge, while blood stains the ground under the tent. Candles light the inside of the room, causing bizarre looking shadows. The only obvious exit is back to the north.
Every direction is a tent. Only a narrow gap leads back west to the path, and another squeezes north toward the glow of the bonfire. The extremely large tent with the black and red flag looms just beyond the canvas to the southwest. Shadows begin to creep up all around.
This appears to be the most northwest portion of the encampment. No footprints can be seen exiting the path, but many can be seen entering. The path looks like it twists its way through the hills that lay to the north. Not much can be seen through the trees in the forest except for more forest.
Tents crowd the path on its east and south sides. A low, guttural, hypnotic chant can be heard from within them, sounding almost like singing or praying. A large bonfire burns just north, and the corner of the camp lies back to the west.
Tents form a circle here with a fierce bonfire burning intensely between them, its flames reaching several feet into the air. To the east lies a well traveled path.
The tight path widens here as a well used path leads to the south. Discarded armor litters the busy path. A tent lies to the east which doesn't appear to be any of the Rakshasa's home. To the south lies the main trail through the tribe.
The walls are covered with weapons of destruction. Large swords, flails, clubs, crossbows, spears, and war hammers litter this tent. The Rakshasa must be preparing for something, but what? The only way back out of the tent is to the west.
This rocky ledge seems to be a good place to look down into the encampment. The tents were constructed uniformly in lines and a bonfire burns at intervals of about four tents. There are many shapes that appear to be floating about, preparing for something. Their features are not yet distinguishable, then three of these creatures come into view. They have humanoid bodies and the heads of wild beasts! Just then, a warcry is heard that rattles the entire hillside, 'Rakshasa!'
Tents line both the east and west sides of the trail here. A small dining table with three chairs gathered around it is here. The area smells of dead deer. To the south and east a tent much larger than the others can be seen. It must be the home of someone important.
The roar of the camp to the south can still be heard, but it fades quickly here. This area seems devoid of life, and it is curious that the tribe has never spread this way, away from the gardens. In fact, it's bizarre. Various tracks lead north into the trees, but not a single print comes back out of them.
The trail leads into the opening of the chief's tent to the east. Two long poles hold up a flap from the tent creating a canopy, and under the makeshift overhang is a guard post. This guard post holds nice weapons that only an elite Rakshasa warrior could wield. Inside the tent some shadows seem to move.
This tent is magnificent. It is hard to believe that the tent is mobile, and not a castle. A map of the region can be seen on the wall, with many red X's and scribbles upon it. It appears these Rakshasa are preparing an attack, but it is unknown whom the victim is.
There is no path to be seen in this section of the forest. The woods close in so thickly that it is hard to tell where they begin or end, and the only sound is that of your own party. A faint way, more a gap between trunks than a trail, winds on to the north; the camp lies back to the south.
The trees stand so close together here that every direction looks the same, and it would be easy to wander in circles for hours. Broken twigs and scuffed moss show where others have tried and failed. The gap between the trunks goes on to the north, and back south toward the camp.
The way twists back on itself here as if the forest meant to keep travelers out. This section looks as though it has never been touched by civilization. Through the trunks to the east a glimpse of pale white bark promises a way out of the thicket, and the winding way leads back south.
This section of the forest is dominated by bright white trees, their coloring anything but natural. After the tangle of the thick woods the place is a comfort, and the white trees can be spotted from a good distance. The forest grows deeper to the east, and the thicket lies back to the west.
The trip to the clearing seemed a lot shorter than the trip back to the main path. The trail twists through tall trees while small woodland creatures rustle in the distance; the forest here seems untouched by intelligent life. The clearing lies just to the west, and the main path back to the south.
This area is plentiful with fruits and vegetables, yet no animals can be seen here, not even an insect. It would seem a good place to set up camp and catch a good night's rest. The only way out is the trail to the east.
The forest is dark and deep here, and the promise of things getting easier ahead is nil. A trail north looks like it leads to a peaceful campsite, while a short way south climbs to a raised clearing. The main trail goes on east, deeper into the forest, and the white trees lie back to the west.
A small hill rises above the tree line here, and from its top the surrounding lands can be seen well. Smoke from the fires of a great camp rises over the trees in the south. Far off, beyond the gardens, strange animals cover the forest as flashes of lightning play over the center of a sacred grove. The way back down leads north.
A steep hill stands here, covered in grass and other growth. It looks easy enough to climb, but an aura of danger can be felt from beyond it. There are few signs that anyone lives in the area, which is odd with all this fertile land. The ground falls away south toward a wide view, a plateau lies to the east, and the trail back leads west.
This region is the most beautiful in these parts, with colorful growth of every kind in sight. Few animals are about, which seems odd given the plentiful vegetation to eat. A strong odor drifts in from the east, while the trail north leads back up the steep climb.
Wonderful flowers blossom all over this part of the forest, and vivid reds and blues dominate the landscape. A distinct odor fills the area and is getting stronger. The ground sounds hollow, as if a tunnel ran below the path; it feels strong enough to hold an entire party, but the putrid smell makes staying long unpleasant. A lair of some sort lies to the south, and the view lies back to the west.
Many small tunnels branch off from here, but none are large enough to enter. A busted up shell lines the area but not much other debris can be found. The soil is very rich, but the room stinks of the ankheg. The only exit large enough to leave is the entrance to the lair north.
The ground levels off here, as the trees tower to the sky. Birds fly by overhead, and wildlife scampers in the shadows. The air is fresh and the ground is moist. Few footprints can be seen entering, and even fewer leaving. The trail runs on to the east, and back west to the steep climb.
The sky cannot be seen with the trees hovering overhead. The humidity makes the area extremely hot and keeps the soil very fertile. A narrow trail leads off north, the beaten path runs on to the east, and the plateau lies back to the west. A large hill can be seen rising beyond the trees to the southeast.
This pathway is not very wide and it is difficult to follow. The ground is extremely loose in this part of the forest, and beautiful flowers and trees sprout everywhere. The trail south leads back to a main path, while the trail east leads deeper into the unknown.
A path cannot be seen here. Grass has covered the entire ground and shrubbery of every kind dominates the landscape. It looks possible to make it through the bushes to the east, while the trail west takes one back near a main pathway.
The trail can be made out again here, as the growth is a bit sparser. Trees are the dominant life form in this part. An old frayed piece of rope is tied to a tree and runs off to the east, though where it goes is difficult to see from here. The trail leads back west.
Loose soil and gravel cover the ground here. It looks easy enough to secure yourself to a nearby tree without slipping down. A funnel of rocks sits in the middle of the ground, and with a closer look a frayed rope can be seen that used to lead down into the tunnel. The trail leads back west.
Many animal carcasses are scattered on the floor of this dank pit. The ground is made up of loose sand and stones. It would be difficult to keep a strong foothold here very long. The loud clicking coming from the pit denotes that it must be mating season for the ant lion. It seems odd that an ant lion is in this area. Some primitive farmer must have tried to raise one for their mandibles, or perhaps someone brought it here as protection.
The trail is hard and rocky, run down by heavy traffic to and from this area. A lot of intelligent life must pass this way, for broken tools are scattered over the walkway. The path runs on to the east, and back west into the forest.
A small path winds through the forest. Webs can be seen in the distance, as well as blood. The footprints in the soil show tracks leading only south. It's extremely dark in that direction, and the beaten path lies back to the west.
This section is alive with the sounds of nature. Flashes of lightning flicker over a distant hill in the south. Off among the trees a giant cat can be seen hanging in a well placed trap, and wiring and some vials of poison litter the path. The path bends west here, and back north.
It is gradually getting darker and darker as the trail continues. Loud clicking noises from the south block out all other sounds. This path looks like it used to be heavily traveled by animals, but none can be seen now. The trail brightens to the east, and the trail south is so dark it is difficult to see what is ahead.
Here the dirt path splits in several directions. Webs can be seen all over the ground and hanging off the trees. Many broken swords and pieces of armor are scattered about, but no remains of life are visible. Obviously, a cunning trap setter makes this their ambush spot. A creature with ugly feet has left tracks leading west, the trail of webs leads east, and to the south the path runs on toward the base of a hill. The way back north is very dark.
Further into the deepening woods a small nest can be seen, made mostly of grass and leaves. Many tiny spiders crawl around as if they are waiting for something. Wire, strings and other building devices lie in the corner; one can only wonder what is being built. The only way out is back east.
A rather large hill stands here. It looks like a difficult climb, as the trails around it are very winding and treacherous, and the path is hard to follow under a green substance smothering it. One trail winds south along the hill's flank and another east around its back; north leads back to the split in the path.
The path becomes a gradual slope up here. Up on the hill, a little east of here, a greenish building can be made out, and the plants all seem to point toward it. The slope continues south, and to the north lies a pathway back to the twisting forest path.
Moss dominates the area here. Life seems bountiful, but it is difficult not to notice the great amount of moss. It is a gradual climb uphill to the east, while the path to the north leads back around the hill.
Moss grows rampantly here as well. This section does have beautiful plants and trees. Bones and blood litter the room and giant cat prints are seen all around. This seems to be a guard station of some sort. To the north an odd looking grove can be seen and to the east and west the forest continues.
This is the top of the giant hill. From here the entire region can be seen. The once beautiful garden, the tribe, and the confusing forests. This sight is breathtaking, but something seems incredibly wrong here. A strong aura emanates from a building, making it difficult to think.
The top of the peak can be seen from here. The structure seems to be covered in a type of ivy or another parasitic form. The path seems to have gotten smoother while the amount of life has diminished. The trail south leads close to the structure while the trail north leads down the hill.
The path winds up the hill some more. The terrain is rugged and rocky, and it is getting rather steep. Thunder roars across the area as the wind picks up. The southern path leads up toward the hilltop, while the exit west leads down to the bottom of the hill.
The pathway here is a long and gradual climb around the hill. No intelligent life can be heard, and the area seems to be lacking noise. Occasionally, a flash of lightning can be seen striking the hilltop. The trail climbs on to the east and runs back west to the base of the hill.
Moss covers this cabin completely, so thickly that it is hard to make much out. This does not look like a standard cabin. A tree makes up its northern wall and seems rather hollow; it pulsates with the energy the moss has given it, and has obviously been altered with magic. The moss seems to be slowly spreading from here. The only way out is back south.
Giant webs are hanging off of every tree in sight here. This place has a terrible odor and is very disgusting. Bones can be seen rotting in the webs, covered in a powerful poison, as the skeletons slowly dissolve. The only way out is back west.
A large swimming pool dominates the area. Several Hillgrove teenagers splash each other, while one cannonballs off the diving board. The Lifeguard pays no attention, it seems as though he is intoxicated.
This is Jericho's home room. Sick toys are scattered about the room. Many heads are impaled in the corner, as torture devices drip with blood. The floor is stained blood red from the mass killings obviously done here.
The lights are dimmed, as some quiet music is played in the background. An elegant dinner table is set properly, while some candles flicker in the center of the table. Seventeen circus clowns sit outside the window taking pictures of the inside. The carpet is some bright green shag with a trace of blue. This place is heaven.
People escape here to relax. A sign reads on the wall saying No talk of the outside world. A large bar extends from the west wall. The chubby bartender seems very tired as he is constantly pouring beer. A small vent on the ceiling sucks in all of the smoke. Four drunken Hillgroves sit at the end of the bar laughing really loud.
