This part of the forest seems strange. Large trees loom above blocking out some ambient light. Moss and fungus grows around the trunks of the trees.
The leaves in this part of the forest are blue. A high pitched laughter is coming from the canopy above. Lights flash randomly from in and out of the treetops.
Water drips from the blue leaves and is falling to the ground making a pitter patter sound. Bits of purple begin to show from under the fallen blue leaves.
It is warmer in this part of the forest and, except for the occasional dripping icicle, there is no sign of a recent snowstorm. The purple grass is now easily seen and tiny tiny faeries dance and sing among the treetops.
The blue leaves above are slowly turning pink in this part of the forest. These leaves cover the forest path and have been gathered up into a rather large pile.
The path continues to twist and turn through the forest. There are very few leaves on the trees and there are no more fairies flying around. An eerie silence fills the forest here.
The wind is blasting. Cold and wet snow blows around in a freezing windstorm. The purple snow sticks to everything and is so thick that very little sunlight reaches the forest floor.
Everything is strange in this magical forest, as warm summer breezes blow blue leaves around. The enchanting sound of a flute fills the air. In the distance a tall crystalline tower seems to float in the sky up ahead.
Dozens of faeries flutter about the trees quickly darting around. They move so quickly it is impossible to get a decent look at any of them. Flowers, in full bloom, are scattered about the purple grass creating an unearthly rainbow landscape.
The amount of flowers in this part of the woods is immeasurable. The path has opened up into a meadow filled with turquoise, magenta, and peach flowers. The crystal tower gates are directly nearby, towering above the fragrant meadow.
The gates of the glittering tower stand here offering entrance to the massive structure. The crystal spire juts upward like a thumb on an endless plain. Light reflects off the structure enhancing the colors of the forest below and of the tower itself. Standing before the gates is a statue of a small faerie. A large sign hangs above him.
The entrance to this place, in marked contrast to the outside, is dull and bland. Grey stone walls cover a lowered ceiling. A faint clicking noise comes from down the hall and nothing lights the place.
The corridor bends here. A growing green lichen adds a touch of light to the corridor and, although slimy, provides a little more visibility to work with but adds an unpleasant dank odor.
This corridor runs north-south and heads east. The same depressing, green, slimy moss covers everything. A strange bubbling sound is coming from the north as well as a foul odor so thick it even tastes bad.
The stink is really quite bad now, almost incapacitating. The almost palpable smell exudes from the north. The walls and ceiling have just absorbed the stink. A light comes from the north.
The stench outside was like a spring meadow compared to what this room smells like. Many people have vomited at stenches such as these. The stink comes from 3 huge cauldrons that are bubbling and steaming mightily. Each cauldron contains a different substance, but the smell is so hideous that someone might wonder what sort of person could live in such a place. The vapors are repelled by the door to the west, but they flow right down the passageway to the south.
This is where Al stores most of his potions. Some of them are helpful, some harmful, and all stink. The stench of the brew room is less here for some reason. Other than the shelves and shelves of potions, elixirs, ointments, salves, balms, creams and facial appliques, there is naught but a lamp to light this dim closet.
Rather than a staircase, a large red slide allows exit downward. The slide seems curiously out of place in this dark and dreary environment, yet here it stands real as can be. Looking more closely at the slide it appears that a slick residue coats it and one might surmise that climbing it wouldn't be possible.
This chamber must be someone's living quarters. A tiny bed and dresser are in one corner of the room. An impressive throw rug covers much of the floor. A foot-high bookcase stands near the bed and a similar fireplace lights the room with a surprising amount of blue-green light. The main feature of this chamber however is a small cabinet which to the occupant of this space would be a large cabinet. Arcane runes cover the cabinet.
This strange room, like the room above, is fairly large, yet seems to be built for someone quite tiny. Strange devices abound and large bookcases filled with an almost infinite supply of tiny books float strangely around. Looking down one can see a large bed of nasty, pointy spikes. Floating in the center of the room is a small table with a single tiny chair. A small marble cover sits on the table and glows with an eerie green light, casting shadows around the room.
The dank corridor goes south, headed to a small door up ahead. Lichen and moss cover the sides of the hallway creating a dank, musty environment. The door itself shows a crescent moon and glows with a strange blue light. A ridiculously large lock glowing with a strange power is the only other accouterment to the mystic door.
A small statue of Puck dominates this empty room. The statue is on one foot holding aloft a large crystal ball. A devious, feral grin is on the statue's face. There are two doors in this room as well. The first one is to the north. The second one is upwards and glows with a bright, blue light. A staircase leads up to this door.
It is surprising that such a beautiful forest exists here. The same bluish leaves cover the rosy trees making a rich canopy above. Birds are chirping and small fairies are flying about the canopy making dew and spiderwebs and other things. A sign is tacked to a nearby tree and a trail heads north.
The trees cover this entire area making it dark, and yet colorful at the same time. Perhaps the tiniest fairies, like fireflies, shed enough light to see. Strange fruit and dangling vines add a difference to this patch of the forest. The trail heads east and south and a faint buzzing sound can be heard in the distance.
The habitat trail continues with much of the same. Larger trees are here that grow with a crazy orange fruit. One might call them Oranges for lack of a better term. As they ripen some fall to the ground only to be picked out of midair by a sparkling faerie creature. The fairies seem happy and carefree. Nothing could bother them, yet the buzzing sound is nearer. Something is making an awful racket to the north.
There is a large nest at this corner of the forest. It looks like a normal hornets' nest. Looking carefully one can see extremely small furniture within the cells of the nest. The trail heads north and west.
Stumps, Stumps, Stumps. All round you are the stumps of nearby trees. Crushed and broken they fall to the earth and are broken in various ways. Strangely, the cuts in the stumps are smooth, as if made in one clean cut rather than chopped with an ax. It's so fine that it seems that a special tool would be needed to do such fine work.
This part of the forests is quiet and shady. A darkness has settled in this part of the forest. Large red pods open and close with a slurping sound, amid fallen pink and blue leaves. A whole lot of noise comes from the north, and to the south the trail continues.
This must be the food supply for the habitat. Rabbits, pigs, Jabberwockies, elk, moose, and all sorts of game eat the plentiful fruits and vegetables of the land. With all of these things breeding, something must control the local population... A large tree blocks passage west, there appears to be a handle on it.
A statue of Puck is here. The statue appears to be running in a race. Puck is wearing a strange outfit with a picture of himself on the front and the words "All that Glitters is not Gold" written on the back. Something appears to be written on his sandal. The only other thing of note is a large glowing door barring exit north.
The forest is left behind as light cascades from the level above. A strange staircase heads upwards and you can only imagine what wonders the enigmatic Puck has in store for you.
This is obviously the starting line to some sort of race. Several hobbled and crippled faeries are inching their way forward. Streamers and banners adorn the sides of a large road which heads south. The road is made up of interlocking cobblestone bricks that seem a bit worn but durable. The large throng of fairies have already started off but there are a few small ones flitting about. The staircase down is blocked by a glowing field of energy.
This is the main road of the race, which seems strange because the road branches in every direction. Flying colorful fairies of all types dart in and out, trying to gain whatever advantage they can. Some pull wings, others shoot arrows, some taunt fairies so much they lose their happy thoughts. They're capable of doing anything to get ahead, wherever that might be.
Fairies on either side of the road cheer as the race comes to an end. A strange clock is constantly spinning, perhaps keeping track of how long you have been here. Refreshments and drinks are over on the side of the road, a fitting reward for finishing the race.
A large staircase heads upward to a door glowing with a bright light. The statue of Puck is here. The statue is seated with his head on his fist. The statue appears to be pondering the contents of a large tome it is holding in its right hand.
"Uncle Puck Wants You!" a large poster proclaims. The poster, which has a picture of the little fellow dressed in a strange red and white helmet and wearing some kind of red, white and blue tunic, is plastered to a stone wall directly above the staircase. Arrows painted on the wall point south in this well lit corridor. A large door to the south has something written on it.
In this crazy room fairies of all types are marching, drilling, shooting bows, practicing magic, doing anything to help make them better scouts and warriors. There seem to be an endless variety of types and sizes to these beings, and they also seem to ignore everyone but themselves.
A large door is here, obviously the entrance for some important faerie folk. The stone corridor bears little use, which seems quite odd considering the large amount of movement to the west.
An official looking hallway is here. Red carpeting covers the floor. Wooden paneling decorates the stone walls. Various decorations adorn the walls.
This room contains naught but a small thatch rug. Bamboo poles and paper walls are the most prominent feature of this room. A large lantern, hanging from the ceiling, basks the room in a comforting blue light.
What sort of being lives here? For having a reputation for being small, the stuff in this room sure is big. Three large chairs sit in front of a huge desk. The back wall has an enormous map of what appears to be Daleville. Strange pins are jutting from the map in strange places. On one wall is a simple motto stating "No Pain No Gain".
This room is very strange. On the horizon a large clock tower is glowing and showing the time as half past six. A single crescent moon lights the night sky on this cloudy night yet doesn't provide any real semblance of light. Like it was sucked out somewhere. The walls, although present, seem to fade in and out of the background and establishing that they are there is difficult. A palpable, thick fog covers most of the floor.
The hallway continues. More red carpet is here as are more directions and more wood paneling. Sconces provide magical light along the sides of the room. The passage ends south at an iron door.
A statue of Puck is standing here, this time it bears a devious little grin. His upraised hand points to a red flag hanging from the ceiling. A door to the west provides egress from this room and a door to the north provides entrance to a hallway.
A large, inviting staircase with a green carpet flows down from above. The bottom of the staircase is clearly made from a harsh metal. As the staircase goes up it slowly changes to wood. It is difficult to tell where the wood begins and the metal ends. Multiple sets of footprints lead up this set of stairs. A strange light shines horizontally across the top of the stairs.
Tall hedges close in on every side, and green brambles are overhead, preventing any way out. It is eerily quiet here. The strange barrier prevents access to the stairs.
You are in a circular room with no exits. A large sign reads:
Hello. You are doing quite well and it is really quite fun looking at you. I'm sorry that I had to perform this movement but it just wouldn't do to NOT do something that amuses me. Please Wait here... *chuckle*
Suddenly Puck runs into the room and presses a stone in the ceiling. Two large doors open. An ENORMOUS BOULDER rolls down from the passageway east crushing everything in its path and gathering momentum. The passage west starts to look much better than standing here.
The boulder gains more momentum and gains on you. It rumbles mightily down the hall crushing broken bits of bone and skulls of previous visitors.
Gaining speed the boulder bears down, shortening the distance between you and it. The unstoppable thing moves horrendously toward you and if you aren't terrified, you're probably not mortal.
You can't seem to get away from it. It's really close now. The bend in the corner won't slow it down at all and the thing surges forward.
The boulder is a few feet from turning you into a rather flat pancake-like object. The corridor twists again north heading for and ENORMOUS PIT! It seems like possible death is a better idea than certain death. Something in your head says, "Move If you Wish to live."
The boulder that was chasing you falls down into the pit you are thankful that your fly spell is still fully functional. As the boulder enters the pit gears churn and hum and stones grind and move possibly resetting the trap. There is an exit north to a small room.
A statue of an elven faerie is here. It is standing on a pedestal and bears a big smile. Stone tears rain down the statue's face and its arms are widespread. The statue's eyes are looking at a large stone with writing on it above the door to the east.
A large, sticky ladder is in this room headed up to the next level. The ladder is literally covered in webs. Tiny spiders crawl between the strands searching for unknown bugs.
Puck seems to have a distinct liking of spiders. Spiders of all different shapes and sizes roam the webs here, frolicking and playing like the rest of the fairies.
This tunnel heads east and west. The passageway appears not to be made of stone. The webs are packed down here allowing travel through the gooey mass.
Not only are the ever present webs here, but thousands of bugs are trapped here between the folds, allowing the local arachnai to feast upon the hapless bodies. Some of the trapped insects glow, casting a pale light over the place.
The webs thin out in this part of the corridor. Torches are held in place onto the wall by some ultra strong cobwebs. Thankfully the webs do not burn.
This room contains a large single web. The strands are close enough to walk on but look as if they send the tiny vibrations toward the center of the web. Considering the size of the web, it's very likely this room contains or contained a VERY large spider.
The stone walls of this room seem oddly out of place, and yet somehow it managed to blend into the webs neatly. Upon close examination of the stone, tiny strands are revealed letting one know that what may look like stone is actually webs.
Although the webs are thick here, movement seems to be less difficult. In fact, there appear to be chairs made of webs, as well as a crude table of sorts. A single candle sits on the table, providing light.
A huge door made of amazingly strong webbing stands here. Carved into the door are arcane symbols and glowing runes. The door glows with a pale blue light, casting strange shadows about the room.
This empty room contains nothing but the statue. This statue is different in that it appears to be animated. A large, glowing door to the east prevents exit in that direction.
An elegant spiral staircase here crawls upward. The banister is of the finest wood and caresses the staircase perfectly. Happy music comes from above giving promise of a large party.
A huge crystal chandelier hangs from above. Lively music is blaring all around. A huge wooden tiled floor stretches here, elegantly crafted and brightly shined. The textured walls have mirrors all around, reflecting many colors.
A large bar is here. On it are drinks of every kind and shape imaginable. A large punch bowl is filled with a bright frothing red liquid and looks absolutely delectable. This area is a little quieter, and the lighting more subdued than the room to the east.
A large stage is set up here with many instruments. Music plays freely across the room. Lights move, streaking all over the place, blinking in and out and spinning round and round. Their many colours glint and glisten all over the room.
Gaudy tiles of strange colours decorate the walls here, and loud music reverberates gaily in this room. The floor tiles glow and blink on and off and a glittering silver ball provides light for the entire area. Pixies and sprites dance and flit freely here much as they do everywhere else.
This room is much quieter, with couches and small tables. A pungent aroma of smoke permeates the room, giving it a distinct, if not unpleasant, scent. Large pipes and hookahs are on the tables filled with exotic tobacco. Strange beings move about, oblivious to all. Looking up one notices a most peculiar sight, a large unblinking eye stares down from above.
This is a back room behind the stage. Strange devices and artifacts jut out from the back of the stage glowing, blinking and vibrating with the music.
The sound of music is coming from a stage to the south-east. The floor is covered in a spongy material that gives a certain bounce to it.
This area must serve as a buffer area between this and the area beyond. No sound can be heard. Plain stone walls and bad lighting make this area seem empty. The faeries seem to be avoiding this space or moving through it quickly.
This is a ticket booth. A turnstile restricts entrance here from the north. A large box with ticket stubs in it is on the ground next to a large desk.
The statue of Puck stands here. It appears to be dancing, twirling around in a large black cape. One of the statue's feet is slightly raised. There appears to be writing on the cape. A large, glowing door blocks exit north and a turnstile is south.
A large tapestry hangs from the wall here depicting various scenes and entities. A large hole in the ceiling allows passage upwards.
This elegant chamber is quite beautiful. Strange pictures hang from the wall and most are truly impressive. These magical pictures seem to have a depth to them which mortal artists just can't capture. A hole down is here, but it is covered with an energy field. The floor is covered by a thick, plush carpeting with a strange red and green swirling pattern. The room is lit by continual light lamps hung along the walls. A wooden door is here.
Plush carpeting covers the floor here. Large plants decorate the sides of the corridor. Rather than green leaves, these ones have bright blue leaves. Vines seem to crawl beneath them. Up above, a huge ball of light hangs. It bathes the area in a bright light. The passageway continues east and there is a door west.
The plush carpeting continues and the hallway bends south. The plain wood walls are undecorated here. A large door is to the east and a faint crying sound can be heard from within.
The dressing room, which this may have once been, is now a broken husk. Broken glasses, chairs and tables cover the entire room. Strangely, a large mirror covering the entire north wall is not broken, although, judging from the debris around it, it looks like someone tried really hard. Water has soaked into the carpeting here and the place has a certain reek to it. A small hole has been punctured into the floor by an unknown force.
A small canopied bed is here, its pink flowers and ruffled sheets provide a warm home-like quality to the room, which, quite disturbingly, is broken up by a large showcase on the far wall.
The hall continues and two large doors adorn either side of the hall. The spiral pattern on the floor has changed subtly to a checkerboard one. The passageway continues north and a strange smell drifts in from the south
Pictures of many male faeries adorn the wall here. Hans, Dis, Mact, Tim, and Gene being the most prominent up until a glance is made toward the ceiling. A gigantic mural of everybody's favorite faerie adorns the ceiling. Puck is striking a beautiful pose. Other than the pictures the room is immaculate, the bed is tidy and made and otherwise nice looking.
The statue of Puck stands here. It has a stern expression and its right hand is extended toward you with its palm upwards, as if to bar entrance to the door to the south. There appears to be something written on the statue's right hand.
This is a room between two doors, one door to the north and a door to the south. The room is large, and there appears to be nothing on the floor except stone. Two glowing orbs provide light. There is a sign above the south door.
This is just a plain stone hallway. Torches light the way to the east and south, although a rather unpleasant odor arises from the east. A green light glows from the south giving the feeling of an arcane presence there.
UGH! This room stinks. Garbage is piled everywhere and on everything in this huge room. There is a strange glowing can floating in midair here. It is dented and, although glowing, looks like it's been kicked and beaten.
This chamber is made completely from glass. A large glowing green sphere is the main feature of this room. A glass desk and chairs also sit in this room. Strangely, the floor is sloped down toward a grate in the floor.
Huge crystal windows give a breathtaking sight as you behold the wonder that is Daleville. Mountains, cities, and forests are all visible from this height. Up above, a large fresco shows a large powerful looking faerie and an incredibly majestic queen knighting Puck. Four large mirrors depict many strange sights. Three of them are changing, the fourth one is not. It shows this room. A large book labeled "My Diary" sits on a stand here.
This plain room contains many things which puck has picked up in his brief stay here. Gold is strewn about the room almost carelessly and a small poster is on the wall with something written on it.
This is the room where Armande thinks. He keeps reminders of the things most important to him here. A large painting adorns the wall. Highlighted is a beautiful woman. Reddish-blonde hair falls gently over a perfect face. Her blue eyes sparkle and she bears a wry grin. Other than the painting the only thing adorning the room is an empty cage. The cage once contained a mighty snake, but Scaley Ben has ventured elsewhere.
Mighty gears turn here and you are caught in them. You get a brief view of the insides of this very large trap before your blood and body is used as lubricant for the mighty gears.
You are Dead.
The stone hallway proceeds north headed for an extremely large pit. This section of hallway is fairly featureless and serves to channel boulders.
