This is the entranceway to the stronghold of the Cassandran clan, a once powerful family of Daleville, which is now mocked at because of the terrible leadership of its current lord, Osric, the crazed barbarian. Osric had taken over the stronghold when it was at its strongest point ever, but he is a very power hungry individual and his constant thirst cost the honor and strength of the Cassandran family. The stronghold is now but a shadow of its former self, slowly crumbling away. The bridge here, full of potholes, arches over the dried-up moat and connects to the drawbridge, which is permanently stuck in the open position.
This is the entranceway of a large stronghold, a very dark and chilling place. The walls of the stronghold are made of a smooth gray stone, heating this place must be quite a chore, yet there doesn't seem to be much of a temperature besides a chill wind that blows in brief intervals. Along the walls there are some lamps glowing brightly, however they do not appear to be burning any fuel, it's as if they are magically lit. The floor is made of a blue polished marble, probably taken from the Dwarven mines. It is so shiny one can probably see oneself in it. There are two sets of oaken double doors, one to the east, and the other to the west.
Rusted old weapons line the walls in this room. One of the guard rooms of the fortress. This is where the guards stand duty to protect from possible attackers. There are small slits in the wall to the south, enabling the guards to fire arrows at the bridge to stop invaders. This gives them the enormous advantage of being able to fire upon opponents who cannot hit them back. The floor is covered with bits of trash, old moldy pieces of food, and pieces of bone. The guards don't seem to care much about cleanliness, but it probably was never in the job description anyway.
This is the western guard room of the fortress. Here is where the guards are posted to stop incoming visitors for spot checks or to guard the fortress against possible attackers. A case of dull rusted old weapons stands in the corner of the room, the weapons would probably break in the first use in their condition. Small holes in the southern wall have been cut in order to enable the archers to fire through them without the possibility of getting hurt by return fire.
This is the main hallway of the fortress. The vastness of the fortress is apparent from this standpoint. The hallway extends to the east and west, glowing lamps along the wall are shining in the marble floors' reflection. An arched entranceway to the north leads into the courtyard of the fortress, an open area of gardens and grasses. Crystalline statues line the hallway, resting on small nooks carved into the walls.
The hallway continues here, leading in both the eastern and western directions. A burgundy tapestry with silvery trimmings hangs on the south wall. In the middle of the tapestry is a pair of snakes intertwined around a staff. It is the symbol of the house of Cassandra, once a respected family, now nothing more than a mockery, mostly because of the mad barbarian Osric, the last of the clan, who now lives in this stronghold. A single pine doorway lies to the north.
The hallway turns here, leading to the north and the west. The ceiling arches into a grand vault with wooden supports. At the very top a glass window lets the light flow in from above, shining down upon the blue marble floor, sparkling in its reflective sheen. A red cherry wood door lies to the east, its hinges look slightly rusted. To the south lies a stairway leading up into the southeastern tower of the stronghold.
The room here is circular, surrounded by a 3 foot brick wall. Over the wall the countryside flows into the horizon, hillsides stretch out endlessly in all directions. Far off to the south a small town can be seen, the fires flickering and giving off clouds of smoke. From this position one could easily fire weapons at attackers with the protection of the stronghold.
Dozens of shelves are all built on the walls of this room. Everything one would ever need is stored somewhere in these shelves. It's hard not to notice the large amount of military type blankets, tents, torches, etc. A normal household, while owning an ample supply of such things, wouldn't own quite an abundant amount of them. It might make a person suspicious about the nature of the activities going on in this place.
Here the hallway leads to the north and south. Further north you can see a few doors on the eastern wall, while the western wall is full of various decorations, paintings, sculptures, carvings. Whoever built this place had marvelous taste. The magical lamps continue in this hallway burning brightly, while sunlight pours in at the north and south ends of the hallways from the windows in the ceilings. To the east is a red cherry wood door with golden etchings of fairies on it. They are dancing gaily in a circle around a willow tree. On the western wall hangs a painting of a noble human dressed in the finest scarlet clothes. He is standing on top of a hill with the sun setting behind him. A small plaque underneath the picture reads, "Zadoc, fifth Lord of the house of Cassandra".
This is the grand bedchamber of the queen mother of the Cassandran household. The queen mother is the binder of the families honor and duty. It is believed that the queen mother received a spelling blessing from the family patron god Euphrates, and was thus granted special spell casting abilities. With this power she was able to bring great fortune to the family and defend them in times of need.
Here the hallway leads to the north and south. Further north you can see a few doors on the eastern wall, while the western wall is full of various decorations, paintings, sculptures, carvings. The magical lamps continue in this hallway burning brightly, while sunlight pours in at the north and south ends of the hallways from the windows in the ceilings. To the east is a red cherry wood door with golden etchings of the symbol of the phoenix, the holy symbol of the god Euphrates. On the western wall hangs a mask, it looks as if it's in the shape of an orc's face. The mask has red paint along the cheeks and blue on the snout, typical decoration for a war mask. A plaque underneath it reads, "Ceremonial war mask of the tribe Klandor".
To the east is a red cherry wood door with golden etchings of a waterfall on it, it flows downward crashing into the rocks while a young maiden swims in a pool beneath it. On the western wall is an ivory carving of an arid jungle plane, with animals collecting around a small glade.
The room here is very large, it dips downward from the top, through rows of stone benches in a tear like shape, to an altar in the bottom. An enormous statue of a phoenix is above the altar, its wingspan is huge. This is the altar of Euphrates, the ever-living guardian of good, however it doesn't look like a normal altar. Bones of sacrificed humans lie scattered around the altar, a practice not acceptable by the great god Euphrates. This place must have been converted into worshipping some other god, yet another example of the lacking of family honor in this stronghold.
The size of this bedroom is unusual, it's the normal size for a one person room, yet there are 3 sets of bunk beds here. There is scarcely any furniture, it's as if this room was just for "storage" or people. Why would anyone want to stay in this stronghold when the family name has been so dishonored?
Here the hallway leads to the north and south. Further south you can see a few doors on the eastern wall, while the western wall is full of various decorations, paintings, sculptures, carvings. The magical lamps continue in this hallway burning brightly, while sunlight pours in at the north and south ends of the hallways from the windows in the ceilings. To the east is a red cherry wood door with golden etchings of a unicorn rearing on its hind legs, its horn glowing brightly. A mandolin is hanging on the western wall, music is coming from it, it's as if someone was actually playing it. A plaque underneath it reads, "The mandolin of Eudo, great bard of the Stonelands".
This is just one of the many storerooms a fortress of this size uses. There are odds and ends thrown around here, mainly just spare items to replace things that are broken or worn out.
The hallway turns here, leading to the south and the west. Vast amount of light shine down brightly from a glass window in the ceiling here. Large wooden supports form a grand vaulted ceiling, allowing such a huge window to be placed without nullifying the strength of the fortress. A stairway to the north spirals up into the northeastern watchtower.
The room here is circular, surrounded by a 3 foot brick wall. Over the wall the countryside flows into the horizon, hillsides stretch out endlessly in all directions. Far off to the north a giant cloud city can be seen high in the sky, winged creatures are circling it. From this position one could easily fire weapons at attackers with the protection of the stronghold.
The hallway here currently runs from the east to the west, with it making a turn to the south further east of here. Stained pine doors lie to the north and south. The north door seems to have a small mouse hole at the very bottom of it, this place must have an infestation of rodents.
Shelves line the walls of this small room full of various food items. The room seems to be stocked full of many different ingredients, while normal for a pantry, there is maybe a little too much food here for a normal sized household.
Whoever lives in this large room is an absolute slob. There are clothes thrown every which way, the furniture is in no recognizable pattern, and the place smells awful. One might be tempted to think that a tornado had struck the insides of this room, if they didn't know better. A pine door leads north, back into the hallway.
The hallway continues to the east and west, while an arched entranceway leads south into the courtyard of the stronghold, a peaceful looking place with many flowers and birds. Grand oaken double doors lie to the north, there is a carving in the wood of the door of the Cassandran family crest. That must be a very important room.
This room is enormous and richly decorated. There is a quite large oak table in the middle of the room with about two dozen chairs surrounding it. At the far end of the table there is one rather large chair with the Cassandran family crest on it, this is obviously the place where the lord of the house sits. Overhead a crystal chandelier glistens with its candlelight, illuminating the entire room. On the northern wall is a grand fireplace, crackling with flames. Above this fireplace hangs a picture of Oquan, first lord of Cassandra, his gray beard making him look older and wiser than he actually was. Double oaken doors lead southward back into the hallway.
The hallway here currently runs from the east to the west, with it making a turn to the south further west of here. Stained pine doors are on both the northern and southern walls. Wonderful fumes of food flow in from the north, it smells like a feast is being prepared beyond that door.
This is a very large room, three fireplaces are on the northern wall with large kettles full of bubbling stews in them. Above the fireplaces are ovens full of breads, pastries, and pies. The eastern wall has a rack of pans near a large table, here is where most of the food preparation takes place. Knives, spoons, and other various cooking utensils are all around. Along the western wall are shelves of ingredients with a cooler in the southwestern corner, a simple metal box full of ice. There seems to be enough food here to feed an army for months! There is a pine door to the south leading back to the hallway.
The person who resides in this room must be quite a powerful person as this place is richly decorated. A red carpet is covering the floor while tapestries cover the walls. Hanging from the ceiling is an elaborate brass lamp, which fills the entire room with a soft glowing light. There is a large bed with brass posts, which hold up a satin covering overhead. All of the furniture here is made out of a high quality wood. This must be the master bedroom.

Here the hallway leads a long way to the south and shortly to the north, where it turns off to the east. All along the eastern wall there are glass mirrors hanging. The mirror on the wall here has the word "Justice" written below it, it is a common practice for the noble houses to have the four "lifeways" written underneath mirrors in order to remind them of the true paths to a better life. There is an ashen door on the western wall with pieces of metal scattered on the ground near it.
Little bits and pieces of just about everything needed in fixing the stronghold is here. Masonry tools lie in a box in the corner, slowly rusting away, it doesn't look like anyone has used them in years, no wonder the stronghold is falling apart, strange the inside looks so nice though.

This is the maid's bedchamber. Sleazy little outfits hang in the closet; We all know how she got this job! A pair of feather dusters hang on the wall and a bunch of cleaning supplies are on top of a table in the corner. Her bed lies unmade; For a maid she sure is a slob.

This is the sleeping chamber of the leader of the Cassandran guards. Once a noble position, now nothing but a job for retirees, bad ones at that. This room still has the rich decorations of its glory days, silken sheets with scarlet blankets. The Cassandran crest hangs on the northern wall, slightly tattered, the top of it fraying away. This is just another example of the results of the falling Cassandran clan and once respected people who are not forgotten.

Mounds of baby toys are scattered on the floor in this room. There are six cribs along the wall, but there aren't any babies in the cribs. On the ceiling puffy white clouds have been painted, angels and unicorns are frolicking in them. Letters of the alphabet, and numbers from 1 to 9 are written on the walls. Learning was always an integral part of growing up in such a valiant household.

It is common practice to place the clan symbol in the first hallway that visitors enter, in order for them to pay their respects to the honor of the household.
Bright sunshine flows downward from the sky. This is the entranceway to an open courtyard in the center of the fortress. A large tree is in the center of the courtyard to the North, with many birds nestled in its vast branches. Flowers line the side of the path as it heads northwards into the courtyard, while south leads back into the fortress.
This is the center of the courtyard of the fortress. From here you can take in the view of the entire garden, in all its majesty. A large tree lies in the center of the courtyard, its branches stretching out and making a nice canopy. Exits lead in all four directions: North to a gazebo, South to the path, while east and west head into the gardens.
There are several large bushes that are carved in the shape of various animals growing here, the detail of these sculptures is unreal. Never in your life have you seen such a magnificent artform that so easily combines with nature. The only exit is to the west, back into the central courtyard.
There are several large bushes that are carved in the shape of various animals growing here. A large lion shaped bush stands out above the others, the detail of the sculpture is amazing, it's almost as if it was real! The only exit is east, back into the central courtyard.
Blue roses line this white cobblestone path that leads from the central courtyard to the gazebo. Sunshine pours in from above, glistening on the polished stones. It would be easy to lose oneself in the serenity of this place.
Dozens of fragrant flowers are blooming here in the courtyard garden. Ivy climbs up along the walls of the fortress to the east and north, with pink blossoms scattered about them. The cobblestone path weaves around the garden giving the stroller a magnificent view of the area without distracting from it. In the center lies a fenced in herb garden, grown for the many magnificent banquets that the fortress prepares. However, the garden seems to be overgrown, as if the herbs haven't been used much lately. Ever since the banquets stopped happening, the herbs haven't been needed.

In the center lies a bed of flowers whose buds form the Cassandran family crest. The gardener must be either a genius with plant life or a druid, as such impossible formations don't come about naturally.
Here is a magnificent structure, the garden gazebo. It is made up of white painted pinewood, in a struddle like design, the wood twisting in all directions. Long hanging plants and flowers are nestled in the nooks and crannies of the structure. Birds fly down from the sky to sit on its roof and sunbathe. On the east wall is a small swing, used for times when one would like to totally escape from the world. Exits go North, back into the fortress, and South deeper into the garden.

Aha, a secret passage! The inside of the tree is hollowed out and forms a stairway going down into darkness. What could this possibly be leading to? Exits are Up, back into the courtyard, or Down, descending the staircase.
Roots hang down from the dirt ceiling here like streamers at a celebration. The staircase continues leading down into the darkness, and up to sunlight. It spirals around a circle, getting smaller and smaller at the bottom of the staircase.
Here a small spiral staircase climbs up into the dirt ceiling to a lighted passageway at the top. A dark cave is carved into the rock making a nice underground tunnel leading off to the North.
This passageway is a 10 foot radius tunnel carved into the rock. The walls are smooth as glass, it is a remarkable formation. What could possibly make such perfect excavation? This must be the work of a powerful wizard. Towards the northern end of the tunnel the walls get rougher, more natural. The tunnels seems to connect to a natural underground cavern. The tunnel leads North into the cavern and South to a small chamber.
This is the entranceway to the cavern. The tunnel leads directly to the cavern, however there is a 40 foot drop from the tunnel to the cavern floor. Whoever made this entranceway made it hard for anyone else to get in unless they were a good climber or they could fly. Exits lead South into the tunnel and Down into the cavern.
This is the Southern portion of a large underground cavern. A large wall is directly to the South and stretches up about 100 feet, with a large tunnel opening 40 feet up. Hanging from the ceiling are long stalactites, water slowly dropping down from them onto the stalagmites on the floor. The cavern continues to the North, where the sound of water can be heard, the size of this place is amazing.
This is the middle of the cavern, a stream flows in from a small hole in the western wall, to a larger hole in the eastern wall. The stream is only about 4 feet at its maximum width near the eastern wall so crossing it isn't a problem. The cavern continues in both the Northern and Southern directions.
This is the Northern portion of a large underground cavern. A stone staircase climbs up from the bottom of the cavern, slowly sloping up towards a bright opening in the Northern wall of the cavern. A pair of large crystal humanoid statues are at the bottom of the staircase, their eyes glowing red from the shining rubies that make them up. The sound of rushing water flows in from the South.
