This is the start of a mountain pathway, which leads high up into the frozen heights of Frost Mountain. The mountains rise up on all sides, and the air is already cooler than in the vale below. The ground is becoming hard and stony, and there is a chill on the breeze. The path climbs to the east, and the mountainous trail back down to the Vale of Frost lies west.
Here the path starts to become covered with snow. The path is a bit more slick and the snow has many footprints in it. Some of these are animal and others are humanoid in appearance. The breeze blows a little harder through here, and it is very cold. If one was to breathe, the breath would become fog like. The path goes south or to the east.
Here the path starts to become covered with snow. It is more slick underfoot, and the snow is full of footprints, some of animals and others humanoid. The breeze blows harder down the mountainside and it is bitterly cold; every breath turns to fog. The path climbs north up the mountain and runs back west. A cave entrance, half hidden by icicles, opens in the mountainside to the east.
Here the path is fairly covered with snow and ice. The path is really slick and travel is slower than before. The path shows some sign of use since there are many footprints, some are animals and some are not. The air is cold and the breeze that blows is stronger than before. The path continues to the north and down the mountain to the south.
Here the snowy path takes a steep climb up into the mountain. The air gets a little thinner but after a few minutes one's lungs get used to it. There is snow all around, the mountain is a blur of whiteness and cold. The path continues to the north and south.

Here the snowy path takes a steep climb into the mountains. The air gets a bit thinner, but after a few minutes one's lungs get used to it. There is snow all around, the mountains are a blur of whiteness and cold. The path goes to the north and south. There is also a path leading to the west.
There is barely a path to see, since it is covered with a fresh layer of snow. The trees which grow all around the mountain are covered with a new soft layer of fresh snow. Giving the path a pretty opal glitter as the sun shines down upon the snow. The path goes north and south here.

This must be a crossroads of some kind, since the path goes east, west and also leads north from here. The path is covered with a fresh layer of soft snow. The air is very cold and thin.

The path leads north deeper into the heart of the mountain. The path is covered with a fresh layer of ice and snow. It leaves a white blanket of coldness on all the plant life along the path. The trail goes back to the south also.
This path leads to the west, it is covered with ice and snow. There are many bushes and trees along the path, which also are covered with snow. There are icicles that cling to the branches of the trees, and there are small birds resting also among the branches. The path continues to the west or goes back east.
This path leads to the west, it is covered with frost and snow. There are many bushes and trees which line the path, these are also covered with snow. Icicles cling to the branches of these trees, and small birds rest among the branches. The path continues to the west or goes back to the east.
The path bends sharply here. It is covered with frost and snow, and the bushes and trees that line it are heavy with white. Icicles cling to the branches, and small birds rest among them, fluffed up against the cold. Northward the path enters a glittering forest, and eastward it runs back toward the mountain trail.
This is an entrance to a most wondrous and enchanting place. The forest before you is covered with snow, ice and frost clings to the trees. As the sun glistens off the trees the whole forest before you seems to glow with an eerie light. There are sounds of small animals, birds and other creatures which dance in the air. To the north is more of the forest and south is back to the path.
This is an entrance to a cave, which seems to be carved into the side of the mountains. The cave entrance is covered with snow and ice. There are many clumps of snow which have fallen down onto the ground. A closer look at the clumps shows large footprints pressed into the snow. Icicles hang down as in an effort to hide the entrance. The exits are to the east or west.
As the cave entrance goes deeper into the mountain, it opens up into a bigger area. The cave walls are covered with a thick layer of ice, but under the ice can be seen some kind of stone. This could be a small keep or building that has been here for ages past and now is buried in many layers and years of snow and ice. The ceiling of the cave is over 20ft high. The exits here are to the east or west.
The light from the outside does not reach this far back into the cave system. The ceiling here is also over 20 feet high as it was back to the west. The walls here are also covered with a thick layer of ice, but it is obvious that underneath is solid stone. The exits here are to the south and back west.
Here there is a sharp curve to the east in the walls. The walls also have a thick coat of ice, as the floor is littered with a bit of crushed snow. The whole system here is ice coated and snow is very noticeable on the floor. There is more to see to the east or go back to the north.
On a wall here is a single torch, which is lit and the light that shines, gives the ice coated walls a strange glow. The walls here as with every room is coated in a thick but clearish layer of ice. All the walls are cold to the touch. The snow that covers the ground is slowly turning to a mush that crunches underfoot. The exits are to the south or to the west. .
Here is a choice of directions. The same ice coated walls have a few torches stuck in them. So there is a little bit of light here to guide ones way. Exits here are to the north, east or south.
This is a long hallway, and there are a few of them in this ice covered structure. There are a few torches stuck in the icy wall, which help give a bit of light to the passage. The exits here are to the north and south.
The hallway comes to a stop here, and there is a choice of 3 directions for one to go. North, east or west all of which are covered with a thick coat of ice. The floor has a mushy layer of melting snow which makes walking a little slippery.
There is a strong cold and musky scent to the air here. The room is shaped like it has been carved out of the surrounding mountain. There is no light in here and on the floor are strewn about many gnawed bones of all kinds. There are many shredded blankets and snow mixed together, nest like, in one corner. This must be the lair of a pet and the only exit is to the east.
This room must be the lair of an arctic dwelling creature. The floor is covered with piles of snow and ice. There are many bones that litter the room. There is in a corner of the room a pile of rubbish which if looked at is mostly old torn clothing and a few rusty knives and other junk. The only exit is back to the west.
This like many parts of this area is just lit with a single torch stuck in the icy coated walls. There is always a mushy snow covered floor, which crunches underfoot. Looking closer at the wall, it is noticed that there are scratches and bits of ice that have been clung to as if someone or something struggled as it was dragged through the halls. There are ways to the west and east.
This is a large hallway intersection, lit by a few torches stuck in the ice-coated walls. Every passage looks much like the others; any of them could lead to a dangerous place, or only to more frozen halls. Scratches in the ice show where something heavy has been dragged through. Hallways lead west, east and south.
The hallway here goes either north or south. There are a couple of lit torches stuck into the ice covered wall. The mushy slush along the floor squishes underfoot, all footprints kind of run together. The air here is stale and has a chilly musky scent.
The hallway here goes either north or east. There are a couple of lit torches along the ice covered walls. The light gives the hallway an eerie glow. The mushy snow which lies along the floor squishes underfoot, and any footprints are all mixed together. The air here is cold and stale.
A roughly circular room, whose walls are coated in a thick layer of ice. Many bones and the rotted remains of old equipment litter the floor. There are many stalactites of frozen ice and snow all around the room. There is a very large dragon size hole leading up and out of the room. The doorway into this large place is just small enough for a large trollish size creature to fit through. There is enough room here for the dragon to stand and fly up and out or breathe on intruders.
Ice coats the wall here a bit thicker than in other parts of this place. The area is dark since there are no torches here. The floor is also coated with a hard icy layer of snow. The hallway here is a T shaped exits going north, south and west.
This room is where the creatures that live here drop and store unwanted items. The walls here are also covered with a thick layer of ice, but it looks like something has tried to chip bits of the ice away. The floor is littered with old cloth, armor, weapons and bits of bone, none of which is usable. The only exit here is to the south.
Ice coats the walls here a bit thicker than in other parts of this place. It is dark, since there are no torches, and the floor is a hard, icy layer of trampled snow. Where a side passage once ran on southward, packed ice now seals it off. The hallway turns here, going north and east.
This hallway is lit by a single torch which hangs from the ceiling. There are exits in most directions. To the north and west are hallways, while to the south is an armory. The east wall has odd scratch marks in the ice. The walls here are also coated with a thick layer of ice.
Once this room was extremely neat and tidy, but now it is a mess. The ice ogres that rule here now use it to guard and watch for intruders. The ice is more thin on this side of the door, due to being scraped off. There is a straw and grass bed in one corner, and a really beaten up table and chair in another. There are many broken pieces of glass and bits of bone littering the floor. The door leads out to ward the west.
As the mountain path leads higher and deeper into the mountain, the air becomes colder. There are bits of frost that cling to the plant life which lines the path. The air is so cold that it chills one to the bone as a light breeze blows by. The path leads to the north as it goes deeper into the mountain or back south.
There is the remains of an old armory here. The door has been broken down and lies on the floor. The room is littered with lots of broken weapons and a few pieces of armor. The walls of ice have been used for target practice, since there are many spears and rusty daggers sticking out of the ice. There are exits to the north, east and south.
The walls are thickly coated with ice, and the floor has been buried with fresh snow. There are many humanoid bodies tossed in here. Some are half buried in the snow. A closer look shows that there are some elven, dwarfish and even a hobbit lying here. It looks like most of the victims were clawed to death. Blood is frozen and mixed in with the snow. There are exits to the north and west.
This room is even colder and has much more ice and snow. There are a couple of large shapes buried in the snow. There is an odd glitter to the west wall. The snow here is also a very light shade of red, as if this area has not been searched through in a long time. If a closer look of the shapes buried in the ice and snow show a mammoth, well part of one, and parts of a white dragon along with other large creatures. The apparent exits are to the east.
This is a long lost forgotten treasure room. It has been ransacked and very little is left here. The room is cold and dank. There is no ice here but there are stains along the ceiling and walls.
Ice and coldness is what is here. The whole hallway is covered with ice and snow. The floor is very cold and slippery which makes movement slow and hard. The hallway goes north or south.
Ice and coldness is what is here. The whole hallway is covered with ice and snow. The floor is very cold and slippery which makes movement slow and hard. The hallway goes north and south.
The hallway comes to an end here. There are living areas to the east and west. There is a door to the north and it appears to be locked. The floor here has been clean of all the snow but the walls are still coated with ice. There are 3 torches along the wall here.
Oddly enough there is no ice anywhere here. At every corner of the room are glass globes, in each one is a glowing red object. The room has an eerie red glow which is caused by these globes. There is a large wooden table which fills most of the room on which lies many broken vials and bottles. The liquid from these bottles has long since dried out and faded away, but looking under the bits of glass, can be seen some parchment and scroll tubes. The only exit is back to the south.
This room is littered with straw, twigs, and leaves brought in here from the outside. There is that thick layer of ice along all the walls here too. A foul acid type smell is very strong here, and the floor is an odd color of yellow. There are some fairly fresh bits of bone lying in one corner, still red with some blood. The doorway is to the west.

There is a table in the corner with 3 large wooden chairs. There is a wooden keg sitting on the table. The table also has on it 4 large wooden mugs, and a rusty plate with a large bloody slab of meat. There is straw and ice littering the floor. There are exits to the east, south and west.
This is the King Ice Ogre living area. There is a table with a couple of large wooden chairs. The table has on it some nice bracelets, for his queen no doubt. There is a large sofa along one of the walls. Even here the walls have a thick ice layer. The floor has a thin layer of snow as well. There are exits to the north and to the west.
There is a large bed which dominates the room. It is made up of many large and furry animal skins. There is a large animal head that hangs on the wall, must be his best kill, it appears to be a tiger with long sharp teeth. There is a very little else here. The walls still have a thick layer of ice, but the floor is void of any snow. To the south is the way to the king's living area.
Here there is also a large table with 4 wooden chairs. The table is covered with bits of bone and bloody meat. There is a lot of litter all around the room. In the corners are beds made of straw. The place has a really foul odor. There are exits to the north and east.
This is a very long hallway, which is covered with a very thick layer of ice. There are no footprints here, it seems nothing ever comes down this way. The east wall is void of ice which is strange. The only exit to be seen is back to the west.
This is a very old and forgotten secret room, which is really cold and dusty. Nothing or nobody has been in here for a very long time. Only exit is to the west.
The trees close in overhead as the forest begins: elm, oak and ash, every branch sheathed in clear ice that chimes softly when the wind stirs it. The snow underfoot is unmarked but for small, light prints of something that hops rather than walks. The way out of the forest lies south, a trail winds north between the trunks, and a narrow path leads west.
The forest ends abruptly against a cliff of blue-white ice that rises out of sight above the treetops. Wind pours down off it, scouring the snow from the roots of the ash trees and heaping it into drifts. The trail turns here, running back south through the elms or west along the foot of the ice.
Tall elms stand in a crooked row here, so heavily frosted that they look carved from white stone. The air is utterly still and cold enough to sting. Shapes of packed snow, roughly the size of a man, stand between some of the trunks, and it is hard to be sure they were there a moment ago. The trail runs north and south, and to the west the trees open onto a glade.
Whichever light is in the sky, sun or moon, catches on every frozen twig along this path and breaks into flecks of color that dance across the snow. It is beautiful and a little unsettling, like being watched by a thousand small eyes. The path runs east and west, and the glade opens to the north.
The ground dips into a hollow where the snow has drifted chest deep. Great mounds of it are packed hard and smooth, as though shaped on purpose, and a cold far deeper than the snow's own radiates from them. Something makes its home here. Paths climb out of the hollow to the north and to the east.
The trees thin at the western edge of the forest, and beyond them a wall of snow-choked rock rises steeply. Drifts lie deep between the trunks, and the oaks are so thickly iced that branches have snapped off and hang like broken arms. The way runs north and south along the edge of the wood, and the glade lies east.
At the heart of the forest lies a round glade where no trees grow. The snow here is smooth and glows faintly with a light of its own, and rings of hoarfrost circle the open ground like the lines of a dance floor. The sprites of the wood gather here. Paths leave the glade to the north, south, east and west.
Icicles hang from the low branches in such numbers that they form a glittering curtain. Tiny figures with wings like frosted glass dart between them, and the air is full of faint, high laughter. Frost spreads across the bark in delicate spirals, as if drawn by small fingers. The path continues east and west beneath the icicles, and the glade lies to the south.
A single enormous pine towers over the hardwoods here, its boughs bent nearly to the ground under their burden of snow and frost. Its trunk is wider than a cart, and the snow around it is trampled by heavy, shapeless tracks: the frostmen seem drawn to this tree. A way leads east beneath the icicles, and another runs south along the western edge of the wood.
The path leaves the mountainside and opens onto a vast, frigid plain. A bone-chilling wind blasts across it, strong enough to knock a careless traveler flat, and the whiteness is so complete that the eyes ache. The mountain path lies back to the west, the plain stretches away north, and a trail of trampled snow leads east.
A small pond lies frozen in a dip of the plain, its ice crusted with snow. Squat, pale shapes sit motionless around its edge, and every so often one of them croaks, a sound like cracking ice. The plain goes on north and south.
Long drifts have built up across the plain here, waist high and as hard as packed earth. A path has been broken through them, heading south toward a snowy rise. The plain lies back to the west.
The plain climbs gently toward a high, snow-covered rise. Huge footprints, each longer than a man is tall, lead south up the slope toward a dark cave mouth. Whatever made them walks upright. The plain opens out again to the north.
The cold and icy wind blasts and howls as it blows into this cave. There is snow piled all over the area making the cave entrance hard to see, in this background of white. The entrance to the cave is quite tall, any number of creatures could live here. There is a way deeper into the cave to the south or back to the blinding whiteness to the north.
There is a torch of animal fur stuck into the icy wall of the cave. It seems what ever lurks here is fairly smart, keeping the way lit. There is a dry animal odor here, which is mixed with the cool winter air. There is a cave to the south and to the east.
This cave is quite dry and has a strong musky odor. There are many large wooden boxes which are filled with scraps of cloth and bits of straw. This looks and smells like a place for animals, there are dark stains upon the floor of the cave. The only exit is to the north.
This is a guard station, it is set up with a few large tables and some large chairs. This stuff is large enough for giants. There are a couple of unlit torches stuck into the sides of the cave. The floor is cold and a hard dry dirt. The air is cold and moist but not very damp. The giants that live here like it cold but dry. There is a cave to the south and back to the west.
This is a living area for common use. Large chairs stand along the walls, and a couple of stone couches sit in the center of the room. Fur capes hang from hooks on the wall. On a table in the middle lie some oddly common games: a crude deck of cards, a checker board with colored rocks, and marbles of every color. The icy cavern walls have been hung with animal furs to give the room a cozy look. There are other caves to the north and south.
Four cave entrances meet in this part of the caves. The walls have some ice and snow. The area is lit by torches which are stuck into the cave walls. There are ways to the north, east and west.
Hmmm this room is not as neat and well kept up as the female's room. The walls have few furs hanging on them, there are what look like wooden and stone beds lining the wall. Each bed has an animal fur and large rolled cloth. There is a table upon which is a few tools and broken bits of glass. There are exits to the south and back west.
This room is a common area for both the male and the female giants. A large table with chairs is set with plates and mugs, and bits of food still lie on the plates; the large animal skeleton on the platter is all that is left of dinner. Furs line the floor, and large fur-covered rocks serve as seats. Weapons and armor in various stages of repair rest in one corner. There is a cave to the north and another to the west.
All around the room are many fur rugs, fur drapes, animal furs on the large wooden bed. The room has rolled animal furs on the floor as well. There is a table and 2 chairs along one wall. The room is lit with torches and there are many animal heads hanging on the walls. Not all the heads are animal, but all show sign of decay and not being stuffed right. The room is the private home of the leaders of these frost giants. The exits are to the north and east.
Walls here are all covered with furs of many different animals. There are a few large beds, covered with fluffy animal furs and other cloth. There are wooden hooks stuck into the sides of the cave wall, upon which hang dresses and long capes of fur. The room is very comfortable and seems to get much use. There is a long table along the wall, on the table are large combs, brushes and hair things. The exits are to the east and west.
Not really much to this cave, except that it is very cold and filled with ice and snow. There are many skinned and cured animal bodies here, along with some fruit and plants. The giants here are a bit more refined than most. The only entrance is to the east.
Narrow trails wind through the snow here, made by small, quick feet. Spots of blood and tufts of white fur show where the foxes of the plain have hunted. The plain goes back south, and to the east the trails meet at a crossing.
Several trails cross on the open plain here, beaten into the snow by animals and by larger things. To the north a snowy trail climbs toward a cave mouth in a great drift. To the east the plain gives way to wide, flat tundra, and the fox runs lead off west.
The wind blasts with a cold chill as this path leads northwards. There are many large animal prints in the snow. The prints go both north and south, some are half buried in the snow. There are a few shrubs around and if looked at closely show signs of large claw marks. Must be some large mammal sharpening their claws, or not.
There is a large cave mouth opening up into the side of a large snowdrift. There are many large icicles hanging down to make movement into the cave hard. Some of these icicles are broken off as if some animal or creature pushed past. There are large paw prints with deep and long imprints of claws imbedded in the snow. If one looks really close a faint trail of red splotches can be seen. Can move north deeper into the cave or go back south. There is another cave to the east as well.
This cave is a little smaller than the others. It is also littered with bones and other junk. There are piles of dung, and waste all around the cave. The odor here is awful and it burns one's lungs. There is to the west an entrance and another cave to the north.
This large cave is littered with many gnarled bones and bits of flesh are stuck in the snow and ice. The air here is thick with the rotting smell of meat. There is a nest of fur, straw and many other things in a corner of the cave. There is another cave to the south and to the west.
Here is a large cave with many bones and bits of flesh stuck in the snow. There can be heard echoes of soft growling and crunching of bones. The air here is thick with a rotting odor of meat and sweat. There is a nest of fur, straw and many other types of material in one corner of this cave.
Here the snowy plains give way to open tundra, flat and white to the horizon. The wind blows harder with nothing to stop it, and the cold bites through any clothing. The plains lie back to the west, and the tundra stretches east and south.
A large flock of penguins has gathered on this stretch of tundra, standing in a tight, shuffling mass against the cold. They eye intruders with suspicion and squawk loudly. The tundra runs north and south, and east to the cairn at its middle.
In the middle of the tundra every direction looks the same: flat, white and empty under a pale sky. A cairn of stacked stones, half buried in snow, is the only landmark, and someone has jammed a rusted spearhead between its rocks. Ways lead north, south, east and west across the snow.
Nothing grows above the snow here but tufts of grey lichen on scattered stones. The wind has carved the drifts into long, hard ridges that all point the same way, like the waves of a white sea. The flats run east and west, and south deeper into the tundra.
Deep drifts have piled up against a low line of rocks here, the only shelter for miles. Penguins huddle in their lee with their backs to the wind. The tundra goes west along the rocks and south across the open snow.
The snow here is strangely soft and pitted, and wisps of steam rise from cracks in the frozen ground. Long troughs have been melted through the drifts, as if something very hot and very large had burrowed beneath them, and the smell of scorching is unmistakable. The way goes north and south, and west toward the middle of the tundra.
A shallow hollow in the tundra holds a little less wind and a little more snow. The ground beneath the white is frozen as hard as iron. The tundra goes north and east.
The tundra ends here at the foot of low, rolling hills, where patches of brown grass show through the snow. Odd four-legged tracks come down out of the hills and wander across the tundra. The tundra stretches back west and north, and a trail climbs east into the hills.
Ridges of old ice, buckled up by the frost, cross the tundra here in low, broken lines, and walking means climbing over them one after another. The ridges run east and west, and the cairn lies north.
As the frozen tundra is left behind to the west, small hills rise ahead and seem to blend in with the sky. Snow covers the trail, but bits of grass and flowers peek out of it. There are odd four-legged prints in the snow... do they belong to bees, spiders, or what? The trail goes east into the hills.
The trail winds between snowy hills, the tundra now far behind. The snow tries in vain to cover all the land, and fresh grass and small flowers peek through it. More and more of those four-legged prints mark the snow, and a low buzzing drifts on the wind. The trail continues east, or back west toward the tundra.
As the trail gets further into the snow covered hill, it becomes narrow and starts winding and weaving. At times it is hard to tell in which direction the trail is going. Once the trail starts to become more straight and narrower, it leads to the mouth of a cave, buried deep in the hills. The cave is to the south and the trail can also go back to the west.
The snowy covered trail leads to this open cave. There is just a fine layer of snow along the ground here, as it has become mushy from all the use. Many footprints blend into each other as they go in and out of the cave. The cave is quite dark and little but echoes are heard. The trail leads back to the north or into the cave to the east.
As the cave goes deeper into the side of the snow covered hill, there is an intersection where a cave is off to the east and also to the south. There is an entrance to the cave system to the west. There is very little snow inside this cave and it is not as cold as the outside. There is a soft murmuring and an odd buzzing sounds that echo here.
This cave is large and dark. There are large guards here, they look like a cross between a man and a wasp. The ground here is dry and the murmuring and buzzing comes from the creatures. There is very little else here. There is a cave entrance to the south and back to the west.
This cave is large and dark. There are large guards here, they look like a cross between a man and a wasp. The ground here is dry and the murmuring and buzzing comes from the creatures. There is a very little else here. The only way out is back to the north.
There are many of these wasp/man creatures here, most of them are doing different things. Some are working on weapons and others are just relaxing, while some are eating. The odd thing is there are no females of this race. Maybe it's like a hive, male workers and one female queen? The only way to find out is to go deeper into the caves. There are cave entrances to the north and south.
The air here is dry and there is an odd sweet odor that lingers here. The floor is covered with many furs. There are spears and shields that hang along the wall. Asleep here are a few of the male creatures. This must be a sleeping area for them. There are ways to go to the north and east.
Here there are many tables, lining the cave. The tables have no chairs but each one has many plates and large mugs sitting on them. There are tools resting on the floor and many other things that look like weapons in various stages of completion. There is very little else here. There is a cave to the south, north and back to the west.
The leader of this group of creatures lives and rests here. She is the only female of this hive. This cave is covered with many furs and animal skins. There is a strong sweet odor that is quite heavy here. There are many shiny and pretty gems and other such things in small piles all about the room. There is a shield and mace hanging on the wall. The room is a place of honor. The only way out is to the south.
There are many skinned animal bodies, fruit and other plants in cold storage here. The floor is lined with snow and ice which must have been brought in. There is a large snowy rock in one corner. The only cave entrance here is to the north.
Under the rock is this tunnel that twists and turns as it winds down deep into the depths of this frozen land. There are many layers of dirt, ice and snow and the deeper down the tunnel goes the colder it becomes. Once at the bottom of the tunnels lies to the north a cave system of ice.
The tunnel opens into a great cave deep within the frozen land. The walls glisten with layer upon layer of ice, and every sound echoes back many times over. The cold is intense, and breath hangs in the air as a mist that drifts up to the roof. The cave goes on north, and the tunnel climbs back south.
This is the far end of the cave system, a high vault of ice so old it has turned a deep blue. Frozen into the walls are the shapes of creatures that no longer walk the world, long-necked and many-legged, staring out of the ice. Nothing moves here. The only way back is south.
The path starts to turn and twist as it goes deeper into this mountain. The path is covered with a new layer of snow, and ice has formed underneath. It leaves a white blanket of color all about, everything blends into the whiteness.

This cave is not as clean as the one to the east of here. There are many bones and bits of broken items scattered here. The snow has been tracked into this cave by a large something, its footprints lead to the south into a dark cavern.
It appears that something is making this cave its home. There are a few furs scattered about on the floor. A torch has been stuck into the side of the cave wall, and a large rock is being used as a table. This may not be the best of home but for something it works just fine. The exit is to the north.
This is a cave that seems to have nothing or no one living here. If needed this could be a safe place to rest and take a much needed break. The ground here is dry and the air seems fresh enough.
This is just another cave in which a party could rest and get refreshed in. There is nothing living here and it is dry and warm. Once in a while a wild elk or goat may wander in but they don't care if anyone is here.
The path starts to turn and twist as it goes deeper into this mountain. The path is covered with a new layer of snow, and ice has formed underneath. It leaves a white blanket of color all about, everything blends into the whiteness.
This trail is so covered in snow and ice, it is hard to even see the path. The trail weaves its way north through the ice and snow of this area. There is no life to be seen and nothing seems to have come this way in quite some time. The snow here is deep and almost waist high for a human.
The trail ends here against a sheer wall of snowy mountain. The snow is just as thick and deep, but something large has wallowed in it, leaving a long trough and a wide, flattened hollow. The sun glares off the snow so fiercely that it is hard to tell what is real and what is not. The only way on is the trail back south.
The path starts to turn and twist as it goes deeper into this mountain. Here the path seems to slope downward a bit as it twists and turns. The path is covered with many layers of snow and ice. The whole mountain is a blur of white.
The path starts to turn and twist as it goes deeper into this mountain. Here the path seems to slope downward a bit as it twists and turns. The path is covered with many layers of snow and ice. The whole mountain is a blur of white.
As the path continues to slope downward as it weaves its way through the mountain to finally come to the entrance to an icy and frozen lake. There is a castle or tower off in the distance but the lake seems to go on and on. The lake is frozen solid and it is covered with snow. The sun beats down onto the ice but does not seem to do much but just glare off and confuse one's mind. The path goes back south or north onto the lake.
The mountain path ends at the shore of a broad lake frozen solid from bank to bank. Snow lies smooth across it, broken here and there by small round holes cut through the ice, just the size for fishing. Far across the white expanse a tower of glittering crystal rises out of the lake itself. The ice stretches away north, and the path climbs back south.
Near the lake's western shore the ice is rippled and uneven, frozen in the middle of a wave. Brown reed stalks stand trapped in it, poking up through the snow. The mountainside rises steeply beyond the shore, so the only ways on are north along the shallows and east across the ice.
The path continues to go deeper into the mountain. The mountain almost buries the path as it weaves its way deep into the mountain. The air has a chill that goes to the bone and the breeze softly blows down from the frigid air high up in the mountain. The path leads east and west.
The path continues to go deeper into the mountains. It starts to slowly climb up leading higher into the cold mountain. The air is cold and frigid, chilling one to the bone, as it blows softly by. The ground has started to become very hard and there is a bit of frost lining the path. The path leads to the east and to the west.
As the mountain path leads higher and deeper into the mountains, the air becomes colder. There are bits of frost which cling to the plant life that lines the path. The air is so cold and as the breeze blows by, it chills one to the bone. The path goes north higher into the snow covered mountain top and the path also goes back west down the mountain.
As the mountain path leads higher and deeper into the mountain, the air becomes colder. There are bits of frost that cling to the plant life which lines the path. The air is so cold that it chills one to the bone as a light breeze blows by. The path leads to the north and deeper into the snow covered mountain or it leads back south down out of the mountains.
Out in the middle of the lake there is nothing but white in every direction, and the glare off the snow makes it hard to judge distance. A long, slick trail of frozen slime crosses the ice here, as wide as a wagon. The crystal tower is close now, just beyond the north shore. The ice goes on north, south, east and west.
The ice here is thick and dusted with snow, and the shore is still close behind. A row of fishing holes has been cut in a neat line, and a few have frozen over again with thin new ice. Little webbed footprints lead from hole to hole. The lake goes on to the north and to the west, and the shore lies south.
The ice groans and cracks loudly underfoot here, though it holds. Pressure ridges have pushed up into jagged walls of broken ice along the eastern shore, too steep to climb. The way across the lake goes north and south, and west to the middle.
Dozens of holes pock the ice here, some fresh and black with open water, others glazed over. Fish scales and bones lie frozen into the snow around them; whoever fishes here does so often. The ice goes on to the east and west, and north toward the middle of the lake.
The wind sweeps across the lake here and has scoured the snow away, leaving a sheet of black ice so clear that dark shapes can be seen drifting far beneath it. The ice runs north and south along the western shore, and east toward the middle of the lake.
A colony of penguins has claimed this corner of the lake, and the snow is trampled flat and stained with their droppings. Nests of pebbles and frozen weed lie scattered about, and the birds waddle between them, squabbling. The ice goes east along the north shore and south along the west.
The northern edge of the lake ends at the foot of an old brick pathway that rises out of the ice toward the crystal tower. The bricks are glazed with frost. The way to the tower is north, the middle of the lake lies south, and the ice goes on east and west along the shore.
The crystal tower looms close above, its lowest courses sunk deep in the frozen lake. Great slabs of ice have heaved up against its wall here, and there is no way into it from this side. The ice runs west toward the brick path to the tower, and south along the eastern shore.
Someone a long time ago must have laid this brick path here. It leads from the frozen lake to a tower just north of here. The tower is partially submerged in the lake. The brick path is covered with snow and ice as is most everything here. To the south is back onto the frozen lake or continue north towards the tower.

It is obvious that this tower was once a beautiful place, which has fallen into a slight state of shambles. The tower is sunken into the lake and is now buried within the cold and frozen waters. The tower is made of a crystal like brick which glisten in the sunlight. It almost blends in the whiteness that surrounds it. The lake lies to the south and north goes inside the tower.
Here is where the long dead, or hopefully dead, owner of this tower first greeted guests. There are torches that are partially used and many hooks line the walls. There are the remains of once beautiful chairs which now lie broken along the floor. To the south is the entrance to the tower, a hallway in to the north and to the east is a closet.
There is much light from the outside here, since it shines into the room from the entrance. This is a large closet with many shelves and places to hang clothing. There are what once must have been very nice and fancy coats and dresses. There are the moth eaten pieces of shoes and many other items. There is a door to the east and the way back to the hallway lies to the west.
It is not that dark in this part of the tower, since bits of light from the outside squeeze their way in. This is a barren and mucky room. Seems bits of water from the outside, in the form of snow, have melted and mixed with the dirt to form a mucky mess. The exits here are to the north and west.

This room in the tower seems to have been forgotten about for many ages. The walls and the floor are covered with cobwebs and dust. This room has not been disturbed by any living thing for many ages. The only door is to the north.
The hallway here is covered with a slick layer of ice and snow. Which seems to have drifted in from the outside. There are some footprints half hidden by a new layer of snow. There is a lit torch made of something which really smells, ever so often along the hall. The hallway goes north and south.
This is a four way intersection of hallways, there is snow and ice down all directions, though to the east is more of an art gallery of ice.
How odd, this whole room is made of ice, but it's not really cold in here. The walls have lovely ice pictures of wild foxes and birds. There are ice sculptures of humans, wild animals and large flowers. Someone must have created this place for a show case of sorts. There is a hallway to the west.

The hallway here is covered with a slick layer of ice and snow. Which seems to have been tracked in to this part of the tower. There are some footprints, or clawprints, that go in both the south and east direction. This makes it hard to see or notice what or who made them.
This is a large doorway leading to a dining room. The ice coated walls and snow covered slushy floor make movement here slow and a bit loud. There is a hint of gold leaves along the doorway frame. It peeks through the ice, only real decoration to be seen so far in this tower. The hallway goes back west or east into the dining room.
This is a very long and large room. Its walls have what is left of large beautiful paintings. There is much damage due to age and the elements that have filtered into this place over time. There are 2 long tables down the center of this room, and a closer look shows the signs of a big dinner, but it was left suddenly. The tables are covered with old dried food, and bones litter the tables. The once fine silk table cloth is now stained and falling apart. There is nothing of any real value here. The doorway back toward the inner part of the tower is to the west and to the east appears to be the kitchen.
The kitchen is two parts, this room here looks to be where the food was prepared for cooking and serving. There are a couple of long tables, with large storage areas underneath. Hanging over these tables are large, small, rusty and dusty knives, spoons and bowls of many sizes. The tables have many different sizes of plates and cooking pots stacked on them. Some of these things looked to have had some recent use. To the north is more kitchen, a pantry lies to the east and the door to the dining area is to the west.
There are many kinds of food type items stored here. It is like a small closet lined with shelves. There are baskets of fruit, rotten and very smelly, small bottles of a greenish liquid, bags of flour, salt and sugar and many other useful food items. The kitchen lies to the west.
This is the cooking kitchen. There are large iron pots, sitting over cold fire pits. There is a large glowing jar which hangs from the roof of the room. The jar glows and gives off some light, must be a magical spell. There are large spoons and knives that litter the floor. One of the fire pits feels a bit warm and there are embers which glow and emit some heat. The walls here seem to be covered with a black soot. Maybe from over cooking in the pits. The exits are back south to the other part of the kitchen or east to a small room.
This room is used to store food items. There are large mounds of snow and ice in various parts of this room. There is fruit, vegetables and some meat stored in these piles. The way back to the kitchen is to the west.
The hallway here can go either to the west, east or there is a set of stone steps going up. The walls here still have a bit of ice and snow. The floor has some footprints mixed in with the mushy snow. The hallway is lit by magical balls of light.
These hallways are lit with glowing balls of light. Balls hang in the center and its glow sheds light up and down the hall. There is very little snow and ice down here but there are wet spots on the floor. The hallway leads off in the north, south and east direction and to the west is a door.
Once this room must have been a place to relax and enjoy a nice long hot soak. The center of the room is a large marble tub. The walls are painted in soft shades of blue and pink. There once was a really nice carpet along the floor. The tub is full of icy slushy water, and there are broken pieces of bottle, jars and other various items. The room is lit with small pink glowing globes of light which float around the room. The door is to the east.

These guest rooms seem used by the trolls who have claimed this tower as their new home. The rooms are used to sleep and rest in there are what look like beds and a place to store things. The floors are covered with furs and there is trash piled up in a corner. This room looks like a lair for a mated pair of trolls. The door lies to the east.
The male ice troll guards use this room for a place to sleep and relax in. There are bed rolls of fur on the floor. There is a make shift table with pretty glass balls and a few bits of food and drink. The room has a door to the east.
This room is used for very little but storage and keeping junk in. The room is very messy and smells really bad. The trolls use this for keeping all the stuff they find when out and about the mountain and off those who wander into this tower. The door is to the east.
These hallways are lit with glowing balls of light. Balls hang in the center and its glow sheds light up and down the hall. There is very little snow and ice down here but there are wet spots on the floor. The hallway leads off in the north and south.
There are balls of glowing blue light that light these halls. There are footprints stained by snow and ice into the carpet. There is an odd spot down on the floor. The hallway goes to the south.
While one descended the stairs, the walls became more and more covered with ice. This part of the tower is frozen under the lake so it looks like water has leaked in and once winter came, it became frozen and icy down here. There are four ways to go, pick a direction and see where it leads.
This hallway lies under the frozen lake. There is a thick coat of ice along the wall making it slick and cold to the touch. The hallway goes north and south from here.
This hallway lies under the frozen lake. There is a thick coat of ice which covers the whole hallway making it slick and very cold.
This is the first room of the garden. This garden is frozen in time by the ice and winter. There are so many different kinds of flowers and plants here. The shades cover the rainbow and the room is over-flowing with color. The beauty of these plants is held forever by a thin layer of ice. To the east is more garden and to the west is a hallway.
As the room opens up the view is breath taking. There are the most beautiful plants and flowers here, all frozen in time by the ice. The flowers are all shades of blue, yellow, red, purple and pink. The plants are deep shades of green. The most awesome smell fills this room. It is a mix of floral and earth with a touch of coldness and winter. There is more garden to the north and west.
Here is another room of plants and flowers that have become frozen with the winter. There are so many kinds of flowers of blues, yellows, reds, purples and pinks. The plants are many deep shades of green. These plants and flowers are preserved by the ice that covers them. The way south leads to more of this lovely frozen garden.
With a magic long forgotten, this part of the tower is a clear tunnel moving deep into the lake. It shows the frozen wonders of the lake, and once if ever again the lake is not a massive piece of ice, what wonders one could see. To see the fish, plants and animals swimming free and through the lake must have been a wondrous sight. The lake now is frozen but still as the sun shines down, its rays create a rainbow of color deep down into the ice. The tunnel goes to the east and the hallway lies to the west.

With magic long forgotten, this part of the tower is crystal clear and now with the lake frozen, the walls show an eerie but lovely site. There are many fish and plants frozen in a state of coldness in the lake. There are even some small animals frozen in the lake. The sun shines a rainbow down through the frozen lake to give these tunnels a soft multihued glow. The tunnel goes west here. Nothing can hurt or harm here, a peaceful feeling washes over all who rest here.
This is a long piece of corridor, which goes east or west under the ice of the lake. The floor and wall are very slick and walking can be a dance of not falling down.
The corridor has a thick layer of ice and this makes it very slippery and slick. Walking is hard and takes some effort for one not to fall down. As the corridor goes south it seems to go at a slight downward slant, going deeper into the lake. The corridor goes east or south.
There are many icicles hanging from the roof and there is a single icicle sticking in the wall. The walls are still very slippery and the downward slant of the corridors has stopped. Here the corridor goes north or west.
This is the hidden hallway behind the wall. There is no ice here, just a lot of dust and cobwebs. It seems no one has been down here in a very long time. There is the hidden door back to the east and more hallway to the west.
More hallway here, it has just as much dust and cobwebs as the one to the east. The hallway goes toward the north as well. The hallway is lit by a glowing ball of light, which floats near the roof.
Hmmmm the hallway seems to end here, same dust and cobwebs as before. There is a glowing ball of light which floats near the roof. The only exit to be seen is to the south.
This room is in an awful state of disarray, there is nothing that is useful. The bookshelves are in such a mess, books ripped and torn, tossed to the floor. Something or someone made a real mess here. What is left of a table lies tossed in a corner and all about it are broken and smashed bottles. The only exit is back south.
The stairs lead down to the lower level of the tower. There is a layer of snow which has drifted in from the outside and the snow does seem to float downstairs also. The hallway goes both north and south here and the snow seems to have flowed or been carried from both directions.
There is a layer of snow along the hallway and it seems to have come from the north. There is a chill in the air here and one can hear the distant sounds of the outside. There is a doorway to the north and south is more hallway and a set of stairs leading down.
Once a door way here, which if closed would keep out the chilly air and coldness. It has been torn from the wall and tossed down. There are bits of wood mixed in with the snowy layer which covers the floor here. To the south is a hallway and to the east is an outside area.
This is a broad landing of snow and ice, open to the sky and built out from the side of the tower. Small trees and flowers stand in frozen planters, kept perfectly fresh under a coat of ice. The wind is strong and bitter up here, and breath turns to fog at once. The landing runs east and south, and the doorway to the west leads back inside the tower.
There is a bit of snow which seems to have drifted down the hallway from the north. The snow is cold and crisp to the touch. There is a bit of light which also comes from the north. The hallway to the south is dark and no light seems to shine there.
Snow has drifted deep into this corner of the landing, and the drifts have been shaped and patted smooth, as if someone had been building with them. A tall figure of ice and snow stands among them, too perfect to be the work of children. The landing goes north and east.
Planters of carved crystal line this end of the landing, and in them a whole garden stands frozen in bloom: roses, lilies and small fruit trees, every petal and leaf locked in clear ice. The landing runs north along the parapet, and west.
A low crystal parapet runs along the edge of the landing, and beyond it the whole frozen lake lies spread out below, white and glittering, with the mountains rising all around. The drop is dizzying. The landing goes on west and south.
The hallway is dark and dreary. There is no ice, light or sound and very little else. It is still damp and very cold since it still is the top level of tower and the winter chill does find a way to flow through the tower. The hallway goes north or south here.

The hallway is dark and dreary. There is no ice or light down this long hallway. It still is very cold and damp but very little else. It's odd since this is the top of the tower, and not a level below the ice. The hallway goes west or east.

This long hallway ends here, there is a door to the east. The hallway is quiet and still and cobwebs seem to cover all the walls and dust covers the floor. There are small black spiders crawling about the webs. The hallway goes back to the south.
This once was a storage room, which now is very bare. There are bits of barrels, weapons, bags, wood, metal and food scattered about. Most of it is not useful at all. To the north and to the west are exits.
There is not much to this room, it was once a lavish and comfortable room. But with the time and the troll that lives here it is really a mess. The troll is just not the best at keeping a clean home and since he tends to eat those who do stop by, no real reason for him to keep the place clean. The only doorway is to the south.
