Activity log
In the game: help activity
The Activity log, in the Chat pane, keeps a record of everything that happens to you:
- each room you enter, with who and what was there ("as before" when nothing changed, "nothing here" when it was empty);
- arrivals and departures;
- every line of the fights you see, and other people's spells;
- what you gain: experience, coins, things you pick up, levels, quest steps.
Rooms you walk through quickly, with nothing happening between them, fold into one "walked" line: click it to see each room. Typing look adds a snapshot of the room. The All, Rooms, Fights and Gains buttons at the top show just one kind.
The main window keeps the game quiet: who and what is here is in the room panel beside it (someone arriving makes their row pulse), and comings and goings are in the log.
How much of a fight the main window shows
The log's "Main window" choice decides how much of a fight is also shown in the main window. The log keeps everything whatever you choose.
| A fight's line in the main window | Nothing | Key moments |
|---|---|---|
| What your own commands did (bash, cast, kill...), hit or miss, and "You lost your concentration" | yes | yes |
| What is done to you: bashed, stunned, knocked down | yes | yes |
| Your own death | yes | yes |
| Other deaths you see, your kill too ("The orc is dead! R.I.P.") | no | yes |
| Experience for the kill | no | yes |
| Fleeing in your fight, yours or your foe's | no | yes |
| The blow-by-blow of each round | no | no |
| Fights you only watch, others bashed or stunned | no | no |
| Other people's spells ("Bob utters the words...") | no | no |
Everything shows every line, as the main window always did. Key moments is the default.
At every level, your spells wearing off (or about to) show in the main window, and so do the coins and things you pick up.
