Backstab
In the game: help backstab
backstab <target>
Is a way to sneak up on a person, and attempt to place you dagger in his back, at exactly the point where it does most damage. The chance of successfully backstabbing a person depends on how well you have studied backstab at your guild and you knowledge of your enemy. A successful backstab gives a damage multiplier, depending on level.
Damage Multiplier = Level divided by 4, +1
For example, Rath is level 20. His backstab multiplier is 20/4 + 1 = 6, so if Rath's damage is 10, he does 60 hit points of damage (10 × 6) on a successful backstab.
Multiclass thieves can only backstab if few people are fighting and their damage multiplier is limited to that of a level 40 thief.
You must use an appropriate weapon to backstab. It must be a piercing weapon (stab, sting or pierce) and be a shortsword, rapier, wakizashi, dagger, knife, stiletto, dart or javelin.
