The world and its rules

Achievements

In the game: help achievement

Achievements are goals you earn once and keep: exploring the world, slaying its great foes, going deep into the Hellhole, mastering a trade, reaching the highest levels, and a few hidden ones. They give no rewards or points. Each has a rank, shown by the colour of its frame, the same colours as item rarity: Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (orange).

The Achievements pane lists them all. For each you see what earns it, how far along you are, when you earned it, and the share of characters who played in the last 60 days who have it. Click a category to see only those, or show the rarest first. Hidden achievements show as "? ? ?" until you earn one.

Most achievements are your character's own. The exploring ones (how much of the world your account has explored), the waystones and the gold hoards are your account's: every character on your account has them, characters made later included. The gold counts every character's gold carried and your account's bank.

When a monster dies, its kill achievement goes to the killer and to everyone in the killer's group who is in the same zone. Fellowship needs four of the group there, for a monster of level 50 or more.

Zones still being built count for nothing: their rooms are not part of the world to explore, and their monsters are not targets. Death traps, the gods' rooms, the arena, the Hellhole and the Hearthstead don't count toward exploring either.

When you earn one, it shows at the top of the screen and in your log, and Epic and Legendary ones are announced on Global. What you had already reached before achievements began is yours when you next enter the game, told in one line.
