Bashing is a primary skill for all fighting classes (warrior, ranger, paladin, and barbarian). To bash someone is to attempt to knock that person off their feet. If you succeed you will inflict minor damage, and cause the victim to fall to a sitting position.

Note that weapon-based attacks will inflict 1.33*damage to a victim who is sitting.

Bashing an opponent also prevents that opponent from casting or performing other actions (other than basic physical attacks) for 2 rounds of combat.

Likewise, the basher, if successful, will be unable to perform any actions (other than basic physical attacks) for 2 rounds of combat. However, if the basher fails to execute a bash, he/she will lose their balance, fall to a sitting position, and be unable to perform any actions for 3 rounds of combat.
